Have you ever dreamed of hitting a 427-yard tee shot on a par-3 hole ? No ? Well, neither have I and, yet, this is what you will face with the unbelievable opening hole, as you will see your tee shot fly all the way down... WAY DOWN on its way to the green, surrounded by sand and trees ! A perfect bird’s eye view, indeed, reminiscent in a way of the 19th hole at Legend Golf & Safari Resort in Hanglip Mountain (South Africa) – a REAL one-hole (only accessible by helicopter), recreated by jjhold (under the name “19thholegends”), or the magnificent real 11th hole at the Sugarloaf Resort Golf Course. After this once-in-a-lifetime start, you will be glad to be back down to earth – literally ! - with the wide open par-4 2nd hole, where you will need to hit your approach over an elongated bunker diagonally across the fairway (from the left), before firing a short approach to the green, set slightly to the left. But, after the dogleg left par-4 3rd hole, you will be going downhill again, with the par-5 4th, with a steep and blind tee shot landing near a serpentine bunker (on the left of the narrow fairway) and a long second shot toward the green (with bunkers on the left). The par-4 5th hole has a wide open tree-lined fairway and a green (slightly to the left), next to a wide lake (on the right), with nice medieval towers and ramparts facing it, and is followed by a "normal" par-3 (around 220 yards), the 6th hole, with a slightly-uphill and sloped green (and with a big hill, on the far right), and the short par-4 7th, a little bit similar to the 5th hole, with the lake facing the tee box (to the right of the green), but with a closer view of the medieval towers. It will then be time to take your vertigo pills again, with the scary par-3 8th hole (around 205 yards) with a blind and steeply-downhill tee shot landing behind the medieval landscape (with another bird’s view of the lake). Coming back, you will be shaking all over again on the par-5 10th hole, especially after seeing the blimp fly... below the tee box (far away!) ! But after hitting a blind tee shot, again WAY DOWN, you will be rewarded with a gorgeous panoramic scenery, before hitting another blind and long second shot toward the green, with bunkers in front (on the right) and the lake (on the left). Then, after the pretty dogleg left par-4 11th hole, along a big lake and the medieval ruins, right behind the green, the next two holes are much safer, with the dogleg right par-5 12th, wide open and with a long and uphill approach to the elevated green, and the short par-4 13th, with a small heart-shaped pond, midway, and an elevated and undulated green. Unfortunately, the straight par-4 14th hole will remind you that it’s time to take your oxygen mask again, with another blind and steeply-downhill tee shot flying past trees and landing near a small lake (on the right)... Thankfully, your heartbeats will slow down on the last few holes (with the wide open par-4 15th, the dogleg right par-4 16th and the par-4 17th holes), before walking over to the nice dogleg right par-4 18th, with sand all along the undulated fairway, starting midway (on the left) and ending not too far from the green, partially hidden by trees (on the right) and set behind the medieval ramparts. Needless to say, this par 72 is not for the faint-hearted, but if you can manage to survive the three par-3 holes (1, 6, 8) on the front 9, and putt well on the wide open (but undulated) greens, you should enjoy this unique course, thanks to the wild imagination of Chimaera Design. P.S. By the way, on my PC, the ball disappears on the 1st hole, after a couple of seconds in mid-air before reappearing when getting closer to the green. And Tiger, after hitting his tee shot starts walking forward but, thankfully, before his next step turns out to be his last, the camera switches to a view of the green (LOL) ! I also noticed a few trees floating above the multi-tiered mountains, so you might have to play around with the settings... Got to go, now, my helicopter is waiting (cheaper than paying my caddie...) !
