With nice trees and a lake as a panorama, this course is quite pleasant to look at, even though I have seen and played some similar ones before from various designers. Ron717, however, came up with a very nice version which plays very smoothly and is not overly difficult. On the front 9, I like the downhill right dogleg par-4 1st hole, with those enormous trees on the left side further down, the par-3 2nd, with its downhill panoramic view and its green, surrounded halfway by water, and the downhill left dogleg par-4 3rd hole, with bunkers on both sides in the corner of the fairway and a lake on the right side of the green. The left dogleg par-4 6th hole is a little bit similar to the 3rd, but has plenty of bunkers on the left side, not far from the green, whereas the downhill par-4 9th hole, with the green slightly to the right, next to a lake, is quite nice with the panoramic view behind... Th back 9 starts with the nice left dogleg par-5 10th hole, with flowers near the tee area, an undulated fairway and a blind approach hot to the downhill green with a lake, close on the right side, and is followed by the downhill par-3 12th hole, with a pretty overview as you reach the slopey green. If the left dogleg par-4 14th hole is downhill all the way to the green, it looks similar to the 3rd hole with a couple of bunkers in the corner, unlike the short (less than 340 yards) left dogleg par-4 15th hole, quite nice with a big creek running down on the left side of the fairway. The last two holes are pretty too : the downhill par-3 17th hole has water on the left side, whereas the downhill par-4 18th has a very narrow fairway as you get closer to the green with a small lake on the left. Despite its pretty panoramic views from the tee areas, this par 70 lacks a little bit of variety but this does not take away the nice job done by ron717...

Terrific design, looks and plays a treat, and this is a deceptively tough nugget of a course. The layout is mostly straightforward but the difficulty comes in the form of clever angles, both from the tees and into the greens, tricky terrain, along with craftily-placed bunkering on most holes - very well thought-out. The greens too are well done, lots of good, challenging slopes to deal with.. though I took some small umbrage at the 11th - nasty pin that! I went a bit of a hack first time around but I'm very eager to conquer this gem - awesome work Ron. Cheers!

My preferred camera view is ball cam - I like to view the whole scenery. On nearly all courses, the drawback of this is that when following the ball at full elevation, you get an area between pano and foreground that doesn't match. This course has the best pano I've seen for this - it blends perfectly with the foreground. If I could rate it, I'd rate it a 5. A very pleasant TW golf experience. Thanks Ron.

Nice work Ron. This has to be one of toughest courses I've played in a long time, It's very deceiving. The stretch from 14 - 18 is brutal with 14 probably being one of toughest holes I've played, with the sidehill lie in the fairway and water right....I thought it was a par 5 the first time I played it. Thanks

Great course Ron and I regret to say it's the first one of your many 08 courses i have played. This will be remedied very swiftly and if your others are half as good as this is, then i won't be disappointed. Thanks for all the hard work you put in, I know it's a long job, i tried to create a course once and gave up after 1 (crappy let me tell you) hole, what a nightmare it was. So again, from me, my sincerest thanks for your designs, they keep a great game interesting. Top drawer. Koudos to you.

Thanks for taking the time to comment on this course and my other courses. Its always good to see that a course is enjoyed and makes for a good addition to the community.
In defense of jurgie and other reviewers of community courses. they are doing a good service to each designer, their comments are fair and not meant to rip a designer. They want the best for the game and the best from each designer. Each course is different and not every course we design is going to be great. So comments good or bad will help in the future to make the next course better than the last. We designers may miss things on a course, that is seen by another set of eyes. Lets keep the forum open to everyone and we designers need their reviews of the courses to improve the play and enjoyment of the game.
Thanks,
ron717

Ron, this truly is an outstanding design, and although you have had many good ones this in my opinion might well be your best one yet. The most obvious thing that jumps out at you when you launch this course is the pano and the technique used in incorporating it into this design. What this technique does is to eliminate that annoying foreground terrain generation during ball flight, that is rather prevelant in a lot of the 08 designs. Add to this a super job of texture blending and imaginative hole design, and the result adds up to a top notch golfcourse. Absolutely A-1.

Just played this course, really smooth running as usual even on my old banger computer. One of your best Ron, but I always like your courses. A pleasure to play, thanks.

I echo the previous comments, that is one of finest pano's to date and you merged it with the course perfectly. I'm sure we will see that pano used time and time again, at least I hope so. Great job Ron, you da' man.
