I can't speak too much to the accuracy of this course, since I don't remember a lot about it given that I only played it once in real life in a snowstorm for a tournament, but of the parts I do remember this course is spot on. Really captures the environment perfectly. I couldn't believe my eyes that Rush Creek of all courses was so high up on the most downloaded list on this website. Let alone that it was even made by someone at all. It's not particularly well known outside of the state and generally regarded as overrated within the state, so I'd be curious to know why the creator chose to make it.

Beautiful design, the usual high quality Towersey standard - realistic and picturesque - and this is a bunch of fun to play. It's a good track with plentiful variety, an interesting if not fascinating layout, and a decent level of challenge. Really enjoyed it, another ripper design, cheers!

Very enjoyable course to play ! Runs very smoothly and the marshlands, creeks, ponds and small lakes will keep you from getting too ambitious going for the greens. I like the par-3 2nd and 7th holes but my favorite is probably the par-4 13th when you are tempted to go for the flag... until you eee a little bit of water right in front of it. The par-5s around the lakes will test your power shots and the par-4 18th is a nice way to end your round. A keeper for me and for many other players !

It may be called Rush Creek, but it features many lakes & they come into play on most holes. Love the Par 5s that sweep around huge lakes on your left, like those at Doral & Pebble Beach. Fave holes here are 2, 4, 7, 12, 13, 16 & 18. I note from TOT's architect card that he's always done real courses in TW08 & he's always done a "real" good job. Makes you wonder how good his fantasy courses would be - if he's ever inspired to create...

Just played Rush Creek four times, for the tourny. It was an enjoyable, real feeling course. Long, but not too long. Thanks for your efforts, I'll check out your other courses.

Good course TOT and i am sure that when the bugs in the water-reeds texture are ironed out it will be an asset to you and other designers.

TOT, The greens were in fact perfectly playable. This was only my first of many more to come so I am positive I will find plenty of other pins as well. It was pure pleasure to play. Being a desinger I know there is always an amount of random setting involved from the game part in the exact pin placement. This is a beauty of a course, and looking forward to playing it again this evening. Did you use a dem? Over all the elevations are pretty darn close. Excellent work TOT. What are the chances of seeing a rerelease of Nicklaus North @ Whistler for 08? Keep em coming.

jmeier, Glad you like the course. Regarding the comment "every pin was pretty much less than 10' from one the edges of the green". I am conscious of these issues; that is why I did not plant every pin near to the edges. On each hole are 3* easy pins and 3* difficult. So I think the times you got to play the course, you may have been unlucky with the random choice made by the game. Another issue I took into account is not to place the pins too close to serious elevation changes.

The way we are playing here you might want to throw the clubs in the lake. If you throw the clubs in the lake, you might miss the lake.

Excellent rendition of this course. Pretty much spot on. I play about 8-10 rounds a year here. Very accurate layout, especially for not having ever played the course. The only minor downside for me was every pin was pretty much less than 10' from one the edges of the green. A bit unnatural there. Otherwise a grest design all the way around. Really liked the textures. This is a must play. Don't pass this one by.

well done...the texture is actually what one would expect when playing a real course as far as I am concerned. from a distance marshy soft areas would appear as watery until you got closer if it was a fine grass texture. Good flow to this, water layout and terrain changes flow well too.

OK, now its a distance thing. As I get closer I see them; any way to improve on this or is this the way it is?

I usually have my grass set at low, so I switched to very high. Nothing changed for me; on the first tee, I can see the grasses and reeds just off the tee but I see the big blank area in the lake off to the left when you zoom up.
Still a great course, TOT.

Ok, I changed up a little on this one. Changed the conditions to make a little more challenging. Normal Greens, Breezy, Avg rough.
The front nine was about normal for me 5 pars and 4 birds. The back nine was pretty much the same except I got lucky and dropped an eagle from mid range on the 11. I found a tree with my tee shot on the 14th, no surprise there, scored a bogey. I usually tangle with a tree at least one hole from every course. I guess it's a ME thing. LOL
I flubbed a flop shot on the 18th and totally shot over the green. I usually have one stupid shot from every round. LOL. However, I redeemed myself and sanked the par putt from about 30 yards.
I scored a 66 (-6) 5 Birds,1 eagle, 11 pars and 1 bogey. Overall it was a nice round and pleasant course to play. Good Job!!

My personal rule for putting: If it looks straight, shoot it straight- 7 times out of 10, itll go in. However if there is any contour at all- screw it, itll be a 2 putt Par :D |

Understand now about the water/reeds texture. I had my grass settings low. Set grass to high and the reeds show up great - very nice touch. Unfortunately, on a lo-end cpu I have to keep making adjustments like this for some courses. That said - very nice course and play!

As BULLPUPP stated, the water has a texture laid on it from the "Billy's Reeds" lib. It is reeds with water as a base. If you are not seeing the reeds , you probably have the grass settings lowered to such an extent as you cannot see them. Much of the course at Rush Creek had loads of rushes/reeds in the water. With Bullpupp's assistance with creating this lib, I has attempted to replicate the course as accurately as is possible.
Enjoy

I had the pleasure of testing this course before release. Very impressive and well polished off. Greens that are tough but actually play fair is a major plus as of late.
I made the Rush textures for the course. Included in the library are different colored blades with either a waste texture as the base or a water texture. When two water textures are used on the same lake, only one will be shiny in the game. So the simulation here is that the blades are coming out of the water. Unfortunately as the game works that water could not be made shimmery. The only other choice was to use the waste base with blades which did not match the real course at all.
Unfortunately there are some shortcut we have to make to simulate the real thing as best we can.

Nice rendition of the course. i played this course in a tournament in late 2005 which inspired me to make my version of the course for TW2006 but i noticed you had done in back in 2005 and now this release is just great. I live in Minneapolis and love the courses here, I have three new ones for release soon including some SD courses. Great design good course.

I noticed this as well. It looks like an ocean texture/shape has been dropped in the middle of the otherwise correct shimmer of the pond texture? Apart from that, course plays very nice - well done. Shaping on elevations and bunkers very nice.

Just played it on dry, breezy, average, pro tees. Very nice course, love a good rendition of a real course. One question...what's with the water? It appears to have areas of no detail in the midst of very nice looking, shimmery water.
