After finishing my round, I have strange feelings about this course.
On one hand, it looks very nice with a very spacious layout and sparse planting. Bunkers come in various shapes and sizes (and some are quite deep) and fairways are smooth.
On the front 9, I like the par-4 1st hole with its view and narrow fairway, the par-3 6th with its little bridge, and the par-4 9th with its tough pin placement near the water.
But, on another hand, there are some very unusual views from the tee, starting with the par-4 2nd hole where Tiger Woods has to tee off next to a big... garbage bin and a bench (!), just like on the par-5 4th hole !
These "bugs" continue on the back 9 with the par-4 10th hole. And what about the par-3 12th hole ? Not only you are teeing off next to the garbage bin and the bench (again !), but you also have to hit your shot sky high to go over trees blocking the view of the green. And to top it all, when you reach the par-3 15th, you have to hit your tee shot over an oversized bridge !
It is a little surprising from GreatSmitty, usually one of the top designers, to have overlooked these bugs which make this course not as enjoyable as it should be...

If I wanted to sum up my experience with this round with one word it would be...INTERESTING. However those that know me would know that I can't just use one word. I'm not sure how all of you feel of my play by play review of these courses, but I feel good about sharing my golfing experiences.
First thing I noticed was that the buildings seem a little blurry, out of focus, as it were. I first thought it was just me, but after I cleaned my glasses and rubbed my eyes I decided it wasn't just me.
My round was pretty much average for me with the exception of the fact that I didn't hit a single tree the whole round. I came very close to it on hole 12 and again on the 14th. I cleared the trees on the 12th and took a wild ride through the branches on the 14th, but like I said I didn't hit nothing.
Now I have one question. What the heck was that all about with the fringe on the 13th Green???? I over shot a chip shot and got tangle up in those freaky little ridges. which resulted in my one and only Bogey for the round.
Other than that the round was pretty much uneventful for me. I played with the default conditions this time. Norm green, ave rough and calm winds and scored 63 (-9) with 8 birds, 8 pars, 1 eagle and the 1 aforementioned Bogey.
This was pretty much enjoyable round and I enjoyed the course greatly.

My personal rule for putting: If it looks straight, shoot it straight- 7 times out of 10, itll go in. However if there is any contour at all- screw it, itll be a 2 putt Par :D |

Smitty, which of the three nine hole layouts did you use for the course.
