With a nice mountainous panorama, wide-open views and plenty of elongated and twisted sand traps all along the fairways, with some elevation changes to deal with, this par 72 is quite scenic and enjoyable, albeit not too difficult. The par-4 1st hole has a beautiful panoramic view from the tee, with a gazebo in the middle of a small garden (with two little ponds at both ends) on the left side of a road (turning to the left), and an undulated fairway with an elongated bunker starting halfway on the right side and ending on the left side of the green. The right dogleg par-4 2nd hole is nice too with a downhill tee shot and sand all along the right side of the fairway, and is followed by the “easy” par-3 3rd, with a big sand trap crossing the fairway from the left. Then, after the right dogleg par-4 4th hole, with a downhill tee shot over some sand traps in the middle, trees on the right corner and another approach shot over more sand, you will head for the steep downhill par-4 5th hole, with a tee shot over more... bunkers and with a big pond, behind the green on the left side. The left dogleg par-5 6th hole is visually nice with its twisted sand traps ending right in front of the slightly-elevated green, and so is the sharp dogleg par-4 9th, with a steep downhill tee shot and an approach shot over more sand traps, splitting the fairway diagonally all the way to the green, with a nice clubhouse (and parked carts) behind and a few hills, further back ! The back 9 starts with the dogleg par-4 10th hole (on the left side of the gazebo, seen on the 1st hole) and bends to the left, with trees on top of a small hill (and sand traps below) and is followed by the long (almost 600 yards) par-5 11th, with an elongated bunker splitting the fairway diagonally from the left to the right all the way to the green. The right dogleg par-4 12th hole, on another hand, has a rollercoaster and slanted fairway with sand all along on the left side and an elevated green, unlike the left dogleg par-4 13th, quite pretty, with a steep downhill tee shot landing at the foot of a big hill (with more sand below on the right side of the fairway) and trees in the left corner. On the par-4 14th hole, you will need to hit your tee shot over a river flowing across and face another big sand trap splitting the fairway from the left side before hitting your approach shot to the green, with a big hill on the right. The last three holes are quite nice : the par-4 16th, one of my favorites, is very picturesque with a downhill tee shot landing onto a fairway with a big hill on the left (and trees below), an elongated bunker all the way to the elevated green on the right, and a meandering river, further to the right, whereas the par-4 17th hole is slightly-uphill all the way to the green with hills on the left side, and an approach shot over a small river (with a nice stone bridge on the left). As for the par-4 18th hole, with its beautiful panoramic view from the tee, it is quite short (less than 300 yards) and, despite a tee shot over the meandering river and sand traps a little bit further, not far from the green, you should have a shot for an eagle before heading for the clubhouse behind. Needless to say, with so much sand on the course, your bucket and spade will be handy as you are bound to land in one of those bunkers along the way but, with such a nice scenery (even though the quilt-like textures used on the hills do not look natural), Twin Peaks is definitely worth playing. And guess what ? If you take a close look at the small billboard next to the gazebo on the first hole, you will see a nice lady sitting in a cart waiting : could it be Sherilyn Fenn ?

FOGDahee, these are my custom fast greens. Faster than what you find on the stock courses. Jurgie, these are rock textures. There aren't any in the stock libs, so I have to make my own. There is indeed a problem with viewing them from middle distance, where it shows the tiles that make up the texture. Up close and from a longer way off thay look OK, I think.

Great course IMO thanks for the hard work on this one. One thing the greens play very fast on this, did you set them that way when you made it?

I won't coment on your course layout, grass textures and use of a variety of trees and shrubs as well as your unique and great course objects and sructures. All thesese things have always been first rate in all your designs. A little suprising however is the use of the quilt texture like hills in the foreground. I for one have never been a fan of their general appearance and have seen them used on several other occasions not just by you but by a few other designers as well. That look has been a turn off for me on what would otherwise have been a great design on more than one course in the past.
