Enjoyed my round, with an eagle on 17, hit it long on the green, it stopped..and rolled downhill into the hole...no skill on my part. I thought the pot bunkers were a bit much, pots to me are supposed to incentify you to drive to a specific landing spot, or take your chances. On some of the holes the entire landing area had pots, and as Putt said long ago, it's pot luck. Nevertheless it's a fine course, worth playing and keeping!

A very nice links course which looks real, with a beautiful panorama (including the famous pierced rock formation in Perçé in Québec), lots of pot and wide bunkers, subtle elevation changes and some pretty ocean views. If you like French gruyere, you will love this par 72 course, but be sure to bring your bucket and spade as you will surely end up in one of the numerous pot bunkers, spread everywhere on the course, starting with the uphill par-4 1st hole, where you will see them on both sides of the fairway. The par-3 2nd hole has a spectacular view from the tee, with a red lighthouse and a... red house next to it on the right, and the pierced rock on the left, visible after hitting your... blind tee shot toward the downhill green. The par-4 3rd hole is pretty nice too, with a tee shot over a big and wide bunker with patches of grass in the middle and the green, slightly to the left, and so is the dogleg par-4 4th, with an approach shot over a creek on the left side. The par-5 5th hole is one of my favorites, with plenty of pot bunkers and another wide bunker across (with more grass in between) not far from the elevated green. Then, after the straight and short (about 315 yards) par-4 6th hole, you will reach the right dogleg par-5 7th, slightly uphill all the way to the green, with a tee shot to the left over the creek crossing the fairway and with, again, plenty of pot bunkers, and an elevated green with a nice view of the bay behind. The last two holes are pretty too : the straight downhill par-3 8th has plenty of sand mixed with grass all around, wherea the par-4 9th hole, slightly to the right, has a small creek behind the elevated green, with a stone bridge on the left and the clubhouse, further behind... As you reach the spectacular and long (more than 610 yards) par-5 10th hole, you will see a very big welcome sign on the left side of the tee, and face, after your tee shot, a big bunker in front of an uphill fairway with a nice view of the lighthouse as you reach the green. After the straight par-3 11th hole, quite bare but with a nice panoramic view as you reach the elevated green, the scenery changes again with the par-4 12th, slightly uphill to the left, with a small wooden house on the right side and a great view of the ocean behind. Another one of my favorite holes is the very picturesque par-4 14th, slightly uphill, with a big elongated pond on the right side, more pot bunkers and a nice colonial-style house on the right, next to a small ocean road with a gorgeous view of the bay. Then, after the right dogleg par-4 15th hole, with a big pond on the right side, you will get your last breath of fresh air on the nice downhill par-4 18th, with a big pond on the left, not far from the elevated green and the clubhouse on the right. Thanks to Chimaera Design, this course looks very natural and with the grey (!) color of the ocean, you feel like you are playing during the low tide... which is very enjoyable and quite different from some other links courses !

A nice enjoyable straightforward course. Liked the reference points on the course.,the house on the cliffs.,the lighthouse.,the offshore rock formation., the advertising monolith attached to the clubhouse. Beprepared to take pot-luck with the bunkers. My bugbear is the seventeenth green.,usual scenario is under par starting putting and over par finished putting.[sigh].

Ooops - most of my comments (hole specific) was for the Charlevoix SDG Golf Club. I have played both, and loved playing both.

I rated this a masterpiece, not just for the beauty of the scenery, holes & pano, but the playability of this course feels like I am playing on a real course. It has all the challenges that makes this course one you need to think first before hitting the ball (like on Hole 3 - a Par 5 - that if you are not carefull, it is easy to shoot an 8). Great elevations, fair greens for play on DRY and VERY DRY (except hole 4, very tough putting hole), and the undulations are smooth. Great job. This is a Fantasy course that is a keeper.

Yeah, Wiz, I got a bunch of little digital imps slaving away for me. I wouldn't know how many courses they've put out so far tho, as my chief administrative imp is on indefinite sick leave, lol.

no problem, i'ts just that my helicopter don't fly that high(lol). How do you get so many courses and libraries out, i think you going on for about 60 courses now, you got a little factory shop with little men pounding away at the CA.

I know about the shot paths in the overhead, Wiz, but i tend to forget about them because I hardly use them in play myself. I prefer to raise the camera to inspect the terrain. Seems more sporting to me, lol.

Great work, Jimi, this one is as tough as nails especially when played on expert, a little wind and dry greens (i won't even mention very dry) these greens are lightning fast. Virtually every fairway has danger lurking with those menacing pot bunkers. Fantastic terrain work and the pano is just perfect for this layout.
Just two comments, if i may, i have noticed on some of your courses that the portions of the fairways are cut off in the overheads, could you not add some more points to the shot paths so that the complete fairway shows up. If the yardage works out to long just leave the last point short of the green and include a corrected yardage ini file for the course.
The other is just a personal issue with the greens, i just felt that the greens where too bright a green in colour and a little out of context with the rest of the course, but that is just me.
