If you want to have your eyes full with beautiful fall colors, then hurry to download this course ! This par 72 is not only visually attractive, it has also quite a few challenging holes, with trees in the way, some water hazards and a few well-placed bunkers in the middle of the fairways and/or right in front of the greens. On the right dogleg par-4 1st hole, there is a small lake right in front of the tee box on the left with bunkers, further on the left side in the corner, and plenty of... mosquitoes to... bug you ! The dogleg par-5 3rd hole has a slanted and twisting fairway and a tough second shot over trees and bunkers in the corner, and reaching the green on the right won’t be easy. I also like the dogleg par-5 4th hole, with a blind and slightly-uphill tee shot and a downhill slope to the green, slightly to the left, and the pretty par-4 5th, with a tee shot over a small ravine, filled with a few trees (with a nice thin bridge on the right) landing on a slanted fairway and with a green, slightly to the left. Other noteworthy holes are the par-3 7th, easy, but with nice fences behind the green, and the straight par-4 9th hole, with a lake on the left side ending near the green. On the back 9, I like the left dogleg par-4 10th hole, with a tee shot over deep rough and a bunker, right after in the corner, and another big bunker in front of the green to the right, and the straight par-4 11th, with deep rough in front and an uphill shot landing on a rollercoaster fairway with a deep bunker in the middle. But my favorite holes are the gorgeous left dogleg par-4 12th, with a tee shot over a wide lake (with a few rocks in it) and another elongated lake on the left side and past the fairway (with an approach shot over part of it to reach the green), and the superb par-3 15th hole, with a peninsula green, high above the middle of the lake with wide bunkers below on its flanks. The right dogleg par-5 18th hole is also quite nice, with a small lake on the left near the tee area, trees on a small hill on the right in the corner and nice stone houses behind the green. Ghostly Pines Golf & Spa Resort (Fall) is a pure delight to watch (except for those very green and bright tee markers !) and it plays very smoothly, with enough tough shots to keep you from being overconfident after some easier holes, and Tee,d Off Design should be commended for making such a nice course !
