This par 72 has a nice panorama with an old castle, surrounded by ramparts, on top of a rocky cliff, with a few more ruins nearby, and a river coming into play on the first 8 holes and running under a big stone bridge, way in the back. On the front 9, I like the right dogleg par-4 1st hole, uphill all the way with a second shot over a river way below to reach the green, and the very tough par-3 2nd, with a tee shot over the river again and a small green, with a bunker in front and a few trees and bushes around. The par-4 3rd hole is a right dogleg, with an approach shot over the river, unlike the par-4 4th, slightly uphill all the way, but with the river on the right, and the par-4 5th hole, again slightly uphill, with the river, a little far to the left. Then, after the right dogleg par-5 6th hole, with its steep downhill tee shot, the river on the right, and its elevated green, and the right dogleg par-4 7th, with a downhill tee shot, the river on the left 'with a few different bridges), and another elevated green, you will reach the par-3 8th hole, with a tee shot over the river, looking quite unusual with water barely below the two bridges, and seemingly coming down below the edge on the other side near the green ! The scenery then changes on the straight par-5 9th hole, with a wide and four-story pink stone hotel (?), on a small hilltop behind the wide green, and continues on the back 9, with hardly any water holes to deal with. The par-3 10th hole is nice, with a blind and uphill tee shot, with gorse bushes on both sides of the fairway and a small pond in front of the green, with two small bunkers guarding it (and that big hotel below on the left side), and is followed by five “mostly straight” par-4 holes, with elongated bunkers on both sides of the fairways and elevated greens. Thankfully, the par-5 16th hole is nicer, with a fairway between two small hills and an approach shot to the green, slightly to the right, and is followed by the par-3 17th, quite tough with a tee shot over the river again, and a small green, with a bunker in front and another one behind, and the straight par-5 18th hole, with a wide fairway and a long second shot to the wide green below the hotel. With a much nicer front 9, this Poitier Creek course runs smoothly but, despite an original panorama, it lack some visual attractiveness, and a few strange sights (water seemingly overflowing, a couple of "levitating" bushes) did not help it either, which does not take away all the hard work done by willie...
