Seven years later... I agree with Birdie Eagles's comments (LOL) !
This course is quite challenging, especially on the back 9. On the front 9, the par-5 2nd hole is quite nice and the par-3s 6th & 8th holes are tough too. Bunkers are everywhere, especially around the greens and make it difficult to really choose the right club.
But to me, the stretch of the signature 13th hole (spectacular green surrounded by water), with the 14th (a par 3) and the 15th (a par 4 with a sloped fairway) will test your skills until your reach the spectacular up-and-down par-5 18th hole on your way to the clubhouse.
As usual, Homeboy did a wonderful job with this course, paying attention to the slightest details, and it's a pleasure to play there.

Lots of water coming into play, lots of undulations - both fairways & greens & lots of holes with just a fairway "patch". A great challenge all round & a great looking course to boot. Fave holes would be 3, 6, 7, 8, 13 & 18 for a great finisher...

Top quality. V.dry. gusty. Played well for a 66. Greens very challenging , but smooth. V. difficult approaches with the strong winds.

This is yet another beautifully constructed, realistic course, perfect in every way, as are all Homeboy's courses. The real bonus is it's the most challenging course I've found to date having played dozens. As I normally score anything from -5 to -16 on other courses in breezy conditions, I look forward to breaking par on Valhalla one day.
