well a1stpoet (bill) i,ve only played the course off-line (18 holes) and i liked it very enjoyable course, what type of cacti or where they come from is not the point,it looks good and play,s well (a lot better than some i can think of so JIMI should look at them before knocking this course as it,s bill,s third try (keep it up bill)

Didn't mean to knock the designer, but if everybody is just telling him what a great course he's produced, even if it isn't so, that's not going to help much, is it? I applaud the imagination, not the execution. Robaldo0868, I was talking of the particular kind of cactus we find on this course. Definitely not African. To ease your pick, here's a link to my own take on an African course: http://www.coursedownloads.net/coursesource/coursedetails.asp?id=7032 Poet should definitely stick with it.

I appreciate you sticking with it Poet. The only way to get better is to keep working w/ the CA. Take a look at my first course lol. I think Jimi is correct in saying that if there isn't some criticism, the designer will never get any better.
Stay with it Poet, and you'll be just fine!

Jimi? you do get cacti in Africa but are known as succulent's,this has already been pointed out by his over critical club mate's. As for an "ammeturish effort" ? where is your course? for his 3rd effort he's getting on fine and need's encouraging, not knocking down.

thanks jimmi, criticism accepted. Yes, the premise started flat, then i contoured different holes. Yes, but by no means is this course flat, there are undulations, green slopes, bunkered hills. So on that note I do beg to differ. I do not claim to be a maggie, willie, homeboy..... or other seasoned designer. But, having played the game on real courses for now 42 years I am accustomed to the plantings, bunkers, and just plain ole things that can screw up a good game of golf...so from that I can learn.
Hope that what comments I get, and what I can gain from them will give the next release a bit of flair adrift from the ord.

This is not A1stPoet's first course. It might well have been though. I understand the need to be encouraging to up and coming designers, but without some fair criticism they will never improve any. So here goes: This course is an amateurish effort. The designer seems to have no idea that the elevation tool in the CA can actually be used to create elevations. This course is as flat as a pancake. I'd suggest the designer read a couple of tutorials. As it is, it is hardly worth the download, except maybe for the designer and his/her friends. As for the fantasy/fictional aspect of this course: I am a great fan of fictional courses, but if you apply an adjective like "African" it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a little study of the local vegetation. Cactuses like you find littered all over the course are native to America, not Africa. This designer seems to mistake American desert conditions for African. So I'd be mighty surprised to find any lions or elephants there. Unless they escaped from a nearby zoo. ;-)
