After searching Google for this course, I could find no information on a "Saxton Ridge" golf course, therefore I believe this is another of Willie's "fantasy" courses masquerading as a "real" course.

(suite) Following up on a previous comment from another member, where exactly is this course located ? Near the Blue Ridge mountains, yes, but in what city and state ?

A gorgeous course designed with taste by willie. Nice planting, quick greens sometimes, undulated and/or slanted fairways with dreaded bunkers right in the middle (with great textures), make this par-72 course very enjoyable to play. There are plenty of nice holes, starting with the par-5 1st with a view of the mountains, water on the right and a tough pin placement near a deep bunker. The par-4 2nd and 4th holes look alike, but the best hole on the front 9 is the par-3 3rd with the green, partially hidden by a big mound. The dogleg par-4 6th hole is pretty too with flowers near the tee and water in front of the green. On the back 9, the par-3 10th is superb with its little bridge, right in front of the green, while the enormous par-5 11th, 734 yards (!) and its slanted fairway, will bring you back to reality... The par-4 13th and 14th, while very different, offer some tough shot selections while the par-3 15th is simply gorgeous with its view. And finally, the par-5 16th with its big bridge overlooking big bushes can get you into big trouble if you chose the wrong club off the tee. Closing in with the nice dogleg par-4 18th will convince you that you must download this course for its variety of shots and landscapes, thanks to the talent of willie !

Ran slow on my "oldish" comp. hole 11 719yds got on the green with 3rd shot only to see it roll all the way down the hill, where is the reward to hit the green to make the par, as you could never hit a birdie on it.
