This par 71 is pretty to look at, but is quite challenging, with its slight elevation changes, undulating fairways, and its wide elongated bunkers and mounds (filled with weeds), often near or around the greens. Right off the bat, you will get a taste of what to expect with the straight par-4 1st hole, downhill all the way, with a tee shot over deep rough and four wide bunkers and a second shot over small mounds (filled with high weeds) framing a big and elongated bunker ending in front of the green, and the easier right dogleg par-4 2nd, downhill again, but will a small elongated pond behind trees in the corner, and more elongated bunkers to watch for on the right, in front of the green. On the right dogleg par-5 3rd hole, scoring an eagle will be close to impossible, unless you hit a miracle (and long) second shot over a few trees, mounds and bunkers, to reach its slightly-elevated green, but you should be rewarded with a birdie opportunity on the pretty par-3 4th, with an uphill tee shot flying past elongated bunkers (on the left) and landing onto a small green, before gazing at another par-3, the gorgeous 5th hole, with a steeply-downhill tee shot flying over a small lake, offering a great panoramic view as you reach the small green. On the next three holes, however, you might have a feeling of "deja-vu", as the 6th, 7th and 8th holes are all left doglegs, with tough approaches to the greens, often guarded by more mounds, weeds and wide bunkers... You will finish the front 9 with the dogleg par-5 9th, slightly-uphill with a rollercoaster fairway and a blind and risky second shot if you want to reach the green (slightly to the left), with a big u-shaped pond in front of it. If the back 9 is pretty too, it is a little bit "easier" until you reach the last few holes : the par-3 15th is downhill to the green, surrounded halfway by trees and with a small lake in front, and is followed by the left dogleg par-4 16th, with a tee shot over plenty of mounds, filled with more weeds and an elevated green, flanked by two bunkers below. You will complete your round with the dogleg par-5 18th hole, bending sharply to the left, with a tee shot over more mounds, and a very challenging and blind shot toward the green, hidden by a big mound (on the left) and guarded by more bunkers in front. As mentioned by Barrylb37 in the general info, this Irish Barrens got a little twisted along the way but if you can be very patient and hit some great approaches while avoiding all those mounds and bunkers, you should finish below par with a little... Irish luck, as this course is "Barry" good indeed !

I like your courses, and since playing two of them on this weeks tour. I will be trying out all your designs for sure, and trying to break par will be very hard for me to do, but I'm finding on my drives . It's just better to lay up for me sometimes than get in trouble trying to hit the smaller sweat spot on the fairway.
Thanks Squirrely

Not so keen on this course after playing Wolverine. Every single hole except the par 3's had split fairways, cut down on the choices of shot. I thought the pin placing on 15 was a bit extreme. Very well made but I didn't like the layout.

Another stellar offering from one of my favorite designers. Creative hole layouts require some thought on shot selection. I love the variety of short par 4's and the grueling par 5's. Excellent terrain work and I really liked the sprawling waste bunkers. It's a keeper -- thanks!

I have no idea what that means. I had zero problems with this one & got great frame rates. Anyone else have any problems? I don't use the caddie, maybe try installing with the modified course utility.
