For whatever reason, this has become my favorite course to play on TW08. Thanks Hyno for a really fun course!

Bunker Bill, Glad you noticed that. In the summer at a golf tournament I played in. At the dinner they had special presentation called the Restoration of Shinnecock. The two experts of this classic William Flynn design. Had a slide show presentation of features of this course. This was really cool. I was able to get a look at the original topographic maps from the orginal course design. It was really amazing the level of detail on these map, because it was done 90 to 100 years ago. That was really the main drive of me doing a Restoration of Shinnecock from the old 05/06 course. In the 2004 US Open final round, the course conditions were boardline unfair, however Mickelson and Goosen still played steller. On #10, if you hit the ball over the green, you could chip the ball over the green and down the hill. I basically used the 95 and 04 TV coverage to design the features of this course. You see something on the TV, you kind of want to try to put it in to the course. So on #10 I wanted the feature if you hit the ball above the pin, you could putt it off the green. This green I really wanted to be very difficult, at the same time with a certain skill level, you could get by this hole with a par or birdie. Lee Trevino called #11 the shortest par 4 in america, cause of the green. With my custom textures I really tried to make the course play firm and fast. This is not something that is normally done. I had to keep in mind that if I made it a brick yard it would be unplayable. I settled for something in the middle and was pretty happy with the result.

Putting on holes 10&11 on dry or very dry is almost impossible, needs some attention!!

I un-installed and then downloaded again. Now everything seems fine, looks a good realistic rendition of Shinnecock Hills.

I did not have that problem, but I did encounter issues with the putting. On one of the back nine greens I had a 20 yard putt and and could only move the putter about two feet on the backswing; I could not get a full swing for a long putt! I swung as hard as I could and barely got to near the hole. I should have been able to go even 15 feet past the hole on a crappy putt. On the 17th hole I had a 15 or 20 foot slightly downhill putt, and the backswing was restricted, and the putt was slow and barely landed a few inches from the hole. I took a mulligan and made the putting stroke as hard as I could; same result. I have experienced the same type of swing restriction on courses from other designers also. Most courses allow a normal full swing on long putts, or any shot. I am puzzled by this. Is it a bug in the design, accidental or intentional, or is it some kind of a problem with the game itself, under certain conditions? I just don't want to keep such a course on the hard drive. I am interested in knowing whether others have experienced this on various courses.
