With the nice Cypress Point panorama to look at, this links course is quite pleasant to play, with a back 9 more challenging with more water hazards and undulated fairways and a few tricky greens. This par 70 starts with the long (more than 610 yards) par-5 1st hole, with a nice panoramic view from the tee box and a green, slightly to the right. Then, after the left dogleg par-4 3rd, with a tee shot over a small serpentine creek, you will have to decide on the short (about 315 yards) par-4 5th hole, if you want to reach the green with your driver, knowing that there is a small pond on the left side in front, along with a few bunkers, on the left and on the right ! Following the nice left dogleg par-4 6th hole, with a little house on the left and yellow flowers in front (on both sides the tee area), bunkers across midway through the undulated fairway and a very wide green, you will reach the scenic right dogleg par-4 9th, with trees in front and bunkers on the right of the green and a small pond on the left. The back 9 has nicer holes, starting with the right dogleg par-4 10th, with trees in the right corner and two big ponds on both sides of the green. I also like the beautiful left dogleg par-4 12th hole, with a big lake on the left and a nice little house facing it and a small pond (not too far from the green on the left side), and the risk/reward left dogleg par-4 14th (about 285 yards), where the hole is shaped like a... question mark, with the green at the tip on the left side, with a pond and a couple of bunkers in front of it. Other noteworthy holes are the right dogleg par-4 15th, with a blind tee shot over a small hill, an undulated and slanted fairway, with bunkers midway and another blind shot to the elevated green, and the pretty par-4 16th hole, with a small house on the left side and a creek zigzagging in front of the tee area. Well designed, as usual by Engguy, Gorse Cove Resort looks nice but is not overly difficult and you should score well on this links course while enjoying it...

I liked this course. Not alot of extras to take your attention away from the actual course. Tough, but fair greens make it a good challenge for all level players. Very nice job!!

Phil,
This is an awesome course. The only problem I found was the ocean to pano change which is unavoidable. This is a 5 star course by a very talented designer. Just spectacular.
Also, what water texture did you use for the ponds?

Beautiful course, engguy. The pano is fantastic, the textures are perfect, and I love the the many ambient sounds you've included. Plus it runs great on my low-end CPU ;) Thanks very much.
