This is a beautiful course with a nice mountain panorama, gorgeous autumn colors, and quite a few challenging holes, where a lot of out-of-bounds areas are delimited by yellow stakes, especially on the front 9.
My favorites holes are the dogleg par-4 1st, with a lake on the right, the straight par-3 4th, with all those yellow leaves on the trees lining up the fairway, and the right dogleg par-4 7th hole where, if you have an... urgent need, you can enter the beautiful stone house on the left of the tee box and stop at the restrooms !
On the back 9, I like the left dogleg par-4 11th hole, with its small lake in front of the green, but the best and toughest holes are the last three : the scenic dogleg par-5 16th, with a lake on the left side and some wasteland in the middle, the par-3 17th, with its small green on the other bank of a lake, and the sharp dogleg par-4 18th hole, where you will need to hit a big tee shot over the wide lake before (hopefully) reaching the green on your second shot, with a nice stone clubhouse to look at.
A definite keeper in my book and, yet, this is not Quietly's best course for a very simple reason : since designing this course in 2008, Quietly has come a long way since, making a lot of… noise with “world premieres” designing ideas in 2021, such as moving trains (on his par-3 Downtown at Sylven Glen GC course) or snow falling (on his Laurentian Winter course). So, if you like this course, wait until you see his latest ones...

Excellent design, a really picturesque course, stunning on the eye with some lovely colours and textures. Probably the only thing I didn't like visually was the stakes - they detracted a little from the rest of the beauty. The layout is certainly tough but not excessively penal. I played my usual (ex/dry/breezy/heavy/diff) and was never worse off than even (thankfully a solid start helped!), peaking at -3 before ending -1. So depending on your skill level, it has a good balance of difficulty. Fave hole was the 11th, a really nice par 4. An awesome design and loads of fun to play - my first time around a Quietly track and I'll certainly be checking out more. Cheers!

Just played this on the CDTour and I have to say its one of the best fantasy courses I have seen. In gusty wind with dry greens it had to be one of the toughest challenges on the tour so far

Beautiful course, nicely laid out and has some interesting holes. Enjoyed playing the course just for the relaxed feeling of being in such a pristine environment. Thanks for your great effort and attention to detail.

PS : I just re-visited the 2007 courses of Mapleton Hills and Orchard valley, and cannot think why I did not remember those courses...they are very very nice and incidentally they load and play well in TW08. Not sure on the earlier courses, but will try them later.

I know you spent a lot of time in the design of this course and the end result certainly portrays all of your efforts. It is a beautiful course and the semi autumn tree colors really add great contrast to the overall environment. The buildings and other course objects are great looking and compliment the course very nicely. The large greens and water textures all add to the quality of the design. It is just super pristine and has a real manicured look to it. Infact it might be just a little too pristine giving it a slight cartoonish look more so than an ultra realistic appearance. This is not meant as a criticism, just a matter of personal taste. One question I have about your yellow staked areas. On the tenth hole I hit a tee shot which apparently just trickled in the yellow staked area. Now as long as I have been playing golf the yellow stakes signify a hazard area, red stakes are lateral hazards and white stakes mark the OB areas. I was not allowed a drop with a stroke penalty and was directed back to the tee, asessed a two stroke penalty just like I had hit the shot OB. I am not sure about that being the proper thing to do. All in all however, this is an excellent design and probably your best one yet.
