Masterpiece design, this is perfection, and the course is tough just as the Bear no doubt intended. The front is one of the best I've played (cyber-style of course, I'm yet to venture to Cornwall). Standouts were the 2nd and 5th - the green on the latter absolutely bamboozled me. The 6th also is a killer hole. The back too has several great holes - the 11th is as good a par 3 as any - but I stopped keeping track by then and just *tried* to play good golf.. and failed. (My final score was comfortably on the wrong side of the ledger.) A point I did note in playing was that Mr Nicklaus may not have been a fan of the pitch shot (would need to check that) coz there's very little offering for the shot on this course. Or possibly it was just a screw-tightening factor he worked into the design.. either way I feel my score definitely would've fared better had I been able to play it more, so it's interesting. Anyway as wonderful as this course is, the design is even better - Mr Towersey, this is utter brilliance. Kudos and cheers!

(suite) Forgot to mention the nice par-3 11th hole and the par-4 13th with a hidden view from the tee, both of them with the creek next to the green...

Very nice countryside course and fun to play ! The use of the terrain with the slopes and undulated fairways is very well done. Quite a few holes require precision to go over the trees and some greens are very narrow surrounded by a little creek. I like the front 9 better than the back 9, especially the par-5 2nd hole, the par-3 4th hole (narrow fairway & green), the par-4 5th (a dogleg hole over the water). The par-4 10th hole is probably one of the toughest on this course (with the flag close to the water and hidden by trees) but, by no means, don't think the holes left are easy as the par-4 18th will give a final challenge with water next to the green. Belated congratulations TeeOffTowersey for such a nice work !

As TOT says on the splash screen, a course where shots need careful planning & placement. Lots of tee shots where you're hitting over trees, hills or rivers. Some great looking holes too, faves would be 5, 10, 11, 13 & 18. A course to enjoy, regardless of whether you bring your "A" game or not. An earlier comment mentioned TOT's Rush Creek, so I'm going to rush over & check it out...

A bit late to be trying this one, but after enjoying Rush Creek I wanted to try other TOT offerings (already love Celtic Manor).
Beautiful effort, altho some of those pins might be very dicey on vdry. some very tight fairways on this course. Very nice TOT, bravo!

Enjoyable course ToT. Pleased to get a two on the par four sixth. Lovely view from the tee on the eleventh. Good birdsong. Good fit with the pano. Thanks for all the hard work.

Glad you enjoyed the course. I take your point Jurgie regarding missing fencing. I was perhaps being too optimistic by panting both courses ["Nicklaus" and "Old"] on one landpolt in CA. This was done as they both intertwine with each other. This caused problems on both point count and # of objects. With Homeboy's help, I got the point count down. I was perhaps too enthusiastic in deleting some fencing in order to ensure a smooth play within the game.

The way we are playing here you might want to throw the clubs in the lake. If you throw the clubs in the lake, you might miss the lake.
No course in the works: retired. |

Great looking design. I played the front nine earlier today and really enjoyed every shot and every hole. An Ace on the fourth hole added to the enjoyment.

Excellent rendition of a great UK style course. The narrow and dramatic sloping fairways coupled with the smallish and tricky greens provide for a stern test of golf especially under windy conditions with very dry greens. This is target golf in the truest sense of the word. A couple of minor graphic glitches that I noticed which do not deter from the quality of the design in any way but thought I would mention only to bring them to the attention of the architect incase he is unaware of them. The fence line that runs along the first hole tee area is missing a post so the fence boards are just suspended in mid air. On the tenth or eleventh hole beyond the left side of the fairway and only on an overhead areal shot, the terrain has gaps in it that display what looks to me as part of the pano or a different terrain. Just an outstanding course TEEOff.
