With small rocky mountains in the background, and its wide open look, this par 72 is very enjoyable and challenging (especially on the front 9), with plenty of blind shots (uphill or downhill), a few water hazards to watch for, and some undulating greens, whose lines are hard to read, at times. The front 9 has some beautiful holes, starting with the par-4 1st and its gorgeous downhill panoramic view, tree-lined fairway, serpentine path (all along on the right) and its green, potentially reachable from the tee box (helped by a tail wind), set next to a wide lake (on the left and behind), with a majestic hotel, overlooking it. You will get a closer view of that hotel (on the left) as you get ready to hit your tee shot over the water on the par-3 2nd hole, before moving on to the left dogleg par-4 3rd, with a big rocky hill in the corner, halfway, and that high medieval tower (Chateau d’Arque on the right), next to the river flowing all along on the right. On the very long left dogleg par-5 5th hole, set along a river on the right, you will have to settle for a birdie opportunity, just like on the right dogleg par-4 7th, if you can avoid a big pond on the right of its sloped green. As you get ready to tee off on the scenic par-4 8th hole, you will see that Chateau again (on the left) before hitting a steeply-downhill shot, landing short of a creek (crossing the fairway midway), and an uphill approach to the elevated green, whereas, on the risk/reward par-4 9th, you will need to hit a blind and uphill tee shot, along a serpentine path (on the right) to reach its... downhill green. Coming back, you will need to hit two more blind shots on the right dogleg par-4 10th hole, with a steeply-downhill tee shot, landing short of a small wooded hill, and over which you will have to hit your uphill approach to reach its elevated green. The right dogleg par-4 12th is another noteworthy hole, with a blind tee shot flying over a small lake, surrounded by big rocks, and another blind approach to the steeply-elevated green, just like the panoramic right dogleg par-4 13th, with a blind and uphill tee shot and a downhill approach to the green. Then, after the easy but pretty par-3 14th hole, and its tee shot over a small lake, you will have one last eagle opportunity on the par-5 17th, quite scenic, with a downhill tee shot landing beyond a lone tree in the middle of the fairway, and a long second shot toward the green (with a river flowing behind), before finishing with the par-4 18th, steeply uphill but with a green, reachable from the tee with your driver. As always with courses designed by Chimaera, you have no clue as to what to expect since you don’t have photos to look at, which means that you have to rely on the players’ comments to decide to play them or not. Fortunately, even though the Chateau d’Arque does not look anything like the Chateau de Versailles, it is very eye-pleasing (just like those cute little medieval towers used as tee markers) and you will have to be patient and think twice before hitting some of your shots with a few risk/reward holes, spread along this nice course...

If you take all the .TCL and load them into TW06 using the Course Utilities, then you will have all the up-to-date files. The K-Club is KHC.tcl in Programs/Tiger Woods TOUR PGA 2008/Courses/KHC.
As far as my experience playing, yes, it looked a lot like a TW2006 course, so if you could update the library and put a new version out, that would be great. (A post I read somewhere said had instructions on loading all the TW2008 and missing courses from TW2007. That should give you plenty.
The course plays very well, has some surprises - like 17, if you go for the green you have to watch out that your ball does not roll off it. Open look makes it decieving for power hitters, as this is a shotmaker's course.
Great job on it.

This is really a very impressive first attempt at a TW custom course design. Noteworthy are the tree types and plantings, the green textures as well as the great looking structures throughout the course. Water texture is also very nice. Played with very dry green conditions does however present some putting problems on a number of greens. Some of the green undulations are a bit severe and somewhat unrealistic. Even on level putts the green are faster than the majority of customs when set to very dry. Other than that, this is a very very nice effort.

I used TW Caddie as well, and it did not register as missing/needing the lib. I will retry using the zipfile option.

Is this a first custom for Chimarea Design, if so, an outstanding effort. Beautiful to look at, nice hole layout, impressive, well done. Installed using TW Caddie, no error messages.

This is the first time I have seen this kind of error message.
"Cannot find K Club file. Please insert disc that file is on."
I have the disc in or the game would not be on. File is already on my HDD at C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08\Courses\KHC\KHC.tcr so not sure how to fix this.
