Outstanding design and a real joy to play. A classic course, world-renowned, it's a great test but plays fair throughout. Starting with a strong run of par 4's (the 4th the best) and ending with a terrific finishing stretch, it's a really fine layout in an awesome setting. I thought the par 3's were a really good bunch, with the 7th and 15th maybe the best, and my fave par 5 was the 13th. Realistic, picturesque and smooth, this is grand designing - loved it, cheers!

Well-designed links course next to the sea (too dark on my PC). Challenging with tricky greens sometimes, this course is fun to play as you will be faced with deep bunkers, high rough, a few mounds which won't give you much time to look at the plantings. Hope you will have more Irish luck than I did with your putting... but, then again, next time, I should not be playing with difficult pin placements in the first place (LOL) !

Great course this is, and you have a gift for capturing the feeling & look of link style courses. If I ever can do what you do, I'd be pretty pleased with myself without question. I was amazed with the killer walking paths throughout the courses, and some serious thought must have went into that process. Love the bunkers, hills, greens, and the plantings really added to that natural feeling you get while playing this course. It really looks like it was made by Mother Nature herself, and here I go to play my final round on the CDT tour. Hope this would be OK, but I might try that walking path style one day with one of my designs because it's so cool the way you did it, and I would only mean it as a huge compliment to you.
Thanks Squirrely

Thanks guys for all your comments - would love to hear more if others want to add... feel free! Still learning how to be a designer... so feedback is always appreciated!
Foreleft! - you are absolutely right! I am far too slow on releasing designs - Ill work on that, but I make no promises - I just cant release a course I dont feel is finished, or quite right, etc.
jmeier - funny you should mention fringes, as that was brought up during testing. I struggle with fringes, I look high and low for fringes I like - often to total frustration. I have tried my hand at designing new textures - and lets just say that was a complete disaster - so I will have to leave that to others with obviously more skill than myself. But you are right - finding the right textures is really critical to the design.
wizards - yeah, I spent a great deal of time on the greens - and pin locations - all in very dry to make sure you could make a run at the hole and not go cascading off the green, but you do have to be careful with some - especially when putting downhill - I wouldnt hit it more than 8ft by the hole...
Next... well, I have done a few in Scotland, this one in Ireland, next I am heading over to England and doing Royal Lytham & St. Annes. And after that - not sure...
Take care, Larry

Excellent job, Larry I love the mounding, bunkering, texture blending and the creative walking paths throughout the course. I can only imagine how long those must take to do they set your courses apart from so many others out there. Phenomenal job with the structures too. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to offer some feedback in testing. This one, like Royal Troon, is a keeper!

As an aficionado of Larrys courses i was wondering if Portmarnock would be as good as Royal Troon...the answer is that it is indeed another five star course. I actually prefer Troons eighteen holes against Portmarnocks eighteen holes but graphicly Portmarnocks surroundings are better.,helped no doubt by the sea on three sides...either way two of the most enjoyable courses you could ever hope to download.

Had the honor and privilege of testing this bute. My only complaint is about the designer I wish he worked faster to produce more courses. Of course, slow and steady obviously produces magnificence. Loved Royal Troon, adore this one just as much if not a bit more. Bravo Larry, cant wait for the next.

Well done!!! Simply love it. Excellent rendition of a links design, and perfectly executed. My only tiny personal complaint, and not really a downfall at all is I was not a fan of the fringe choice. 5 stars here. A must have.

Superb course, the greens are immaculate, tough on very dry but still playable. Looking forward to other links you may have up your sleeve??
