Had to try another of MJ's courses after braving Blistering Falls last week. This one isn't as radical, but still a fun challenge anyway. The only thing I found strange was that the program caddie kept setting up the virtuals in my foursome with the LW on many of the longer hole tees. Dunno if this was a program glitch with my setup or a quirk of the course settings, but it made them easier to beat!

i really enjoyed this course, very testing i play for the fun of the course and not just for wether the smoothing and optamizing has been done correctly, yes it makes for a better view when it is all right, but me and a couple of the guys had so much fun with this course it didnt realy matter, i managed to record my worst score ever on the front 9 so that shows the challenges with this one i would and will be recomending this one to all my team mates

I forgot: always optmize at the lowest setting on your fairways, greens and bunkers and other playing areas. If youve smoothed them correctly you can be sure it will remain smooth, even if it gives you a 90% optimize at the lowest setting.

When optimizing you should never ever optimize with children. It will bleed your textures to death and you wont be able to do much with them afterwards. Try and smooth every elevation that you make. Experiment wth the different settings. Try smoothing something at the lowest setting until you got it completely smooth. Itll take you maybe 200 clicks, but you can get it to look very smooth without losing too much detail in your elevation work. You can just give it your 200 clicks or whatever and go and have lunch while your machine figures it out if you think it takes too long, lol.

You got great imagination, Brocko. I see some very nice ideas there. But your design technique really isnt up to par yet. You really should use the smooth tool more. Id suggest building just a single hole in the CA and experiment with the smoother until you get a surface that is totally smooth. When you optmize, always optimize on the lowest setting. To check the smoothness of your course, look at it and work in the modeling clay in the CA. That way you will develop a feel for what the terrain does when you use these tools. The CA is a very handy tool, which allows you to create a golf course in a relatively short time. But it is like a pencil. A child can draw with it just as easily as a grown up, but only an artist can make a work of art with it. And to become an artist you have to study and practice. And then study and practice some more, lol. Have fun!
