Absolutely brilliant. Possibly the ultimate design here, 12 years after release - it's truly flawless and has infinite replay-ability. I first played the course back in the Links386 days and thought it was pretty good and a decent challenge.. fast forward to now and this awesome design leaves it stone-cold! The course is (actually) terrific and the layout constantly testing and varied - many great holes. I played it first time in dry/breezy conditions and shot +2 (which I wasn't unhappy with).. I then tried it on wet/calm and shot -2 (which I wasn't unhappy with) - doesn't matter how you play it, it will challenge and entertain you. What more to say - bravo Sir Homeboy, massive kudos and cheers!

This course has everything you can ask for : doglegs on the 1st two holes, links-like scenery (4th, 5th, 7th holes), tough par-3s, roller-coaster fairways on the back 9, and a signature hole, the 13th, a beauty. And to top it all, a final uphill drive to the par-5 18th hole leading to a beautiful clubhouse. As you can guess, it is a definite keeper for me, Homeboy !

Excellent job on this course Homeboy! Hands down.....one of my favorite courses so far. I was in the crowd for the 2008 Ryder cup at Valhala, the course is located 2 hrs from my home.

Interesting course. I've seen a lot of posts saying this course is really tough, but I managed to go -8 on 18 holes the first time I played it. Keep in mind I used normal greens, calm winds and an average rough. The fairways are pretty tricky so make sure you SHOT CHECK to see where you are going. Blasting your drives isn't a good idea on this course, ever. Some of the greens were a roller coaster ride, but overall played very well. Shot placement, shot placement, shot placement. This is a well designed course and a good challenge for the average to above average golfer/player. Beginners might want to wait on this one. Factor in some wind and fast greens and you've got a potential nightmare of a course.
Overall stats for the first time I played this were:
8 birdies 8 pars 1 eagle 1 double bogey (The 17th hole has the green from hell!)

What a course! This is truly an impressive design - anyone who has not already downloaded this masterpiece should go get it right now. That view up the 18th is just plain awesome! And your greens... simply fantastic - challenging, but fair as well!
You have showed us all (once again) why you are the top designer out there! The rest of us mere designing mortals keep trying to qualify for the PGA tour with our designs while you keep winning the Majors with yours! Well done! Cant wait to see what you do next...
And I totally agree with Hiker Bob below, I cant imagine why anyone would rate this course anything less than a perfect 5!

Jurgie, its probably because I removed the deep rough surrounding each bunker. I also moved a few iffy pins.
Thanks again for the kind words, everyone. A lot of time went into the course and Im glad you like it.

This is a magnificent course Roger. The bunker work is outstanding as is everything else including the structures that Brent did for you. Your attention to detail shows throughout the course. The greens are wickedly fair for all levels of play. The course plays very smoothly as yours always do. I always look forward to you pushing the limits of the Course Architect with each design you share with the entire Tiger Woods PGA Tour community. It doesnt get any better than this. All your hard work really paid off on this one with outstanding final results for everyone of us to enjoy. Thanks so much and keep on with your brilliant design work.

OK now, whos giving this course a 4? I dont think youll find a course closer to reality than this one, given the limits of the tools we have to make these. Face it, it does not, cannot get any better than this one!

Played on LAN, very dry/gusty/heavy/diff, no crashes or graphic probs.
An instant classic IMO. Wonderful to look at, great FPS rates.
Only issue for me is how tough it plays, but that is a good thing since it is a real design. It can handle vdry and gusty, but doesnt need tough conditions to play tough IMO.

Thanks a lot, guys. Glad you like the course. This one took a little over 3 months of work, plus a good amount of research as to the recent course renovations. A lot of work on the streams and mounding really added a lot of time, but I am happy with the results. Eppie, I will add a pic of the final plot in the Course Source forum above showing the course info final point count was 142K.

An outstanding design by my favorite designer! To me, this is the most difficult fair course I have ever seen (which is this designers specialty I might add). If you hit good shots, you have a chance, if you dont, well say goodnight! The terrain work is flawless and the are plantings superb. Roger is one of very few who can put out a course that is beautiful, difficult, and fair EVERYTIME. Well done my friend.

Played this course and I played rubbish on it all the way round, I could not get off this course quick enough, I was mentally drained. BUT I would say this has to be a masterpiece course, its flawless, there are probably only a handfull of courses that deserve cult astatus and this has to be one of them. I may not play this course again for a while as my game is not worthy of it, but when I do play it again, it will probably beat me up again. Thanks for this course Homeboy, even though I cannot play it! lol!
