This par 72 is another pretty course, designed by Barrylb37, and is quite challenging with water coming into play on a lot of holes, and with plenty of blind slightly-uphill (or downhill) shots and a few tricky greens, set real close to a wide lake. The first four holes are all beautiful : on the par-3 1st, you will need to hit a long tee shot over the wide lake to reach the green, before facing three left dogleg holes in a row. The par-4 2nd is uphill with a sloped fairway and a nice approach to the green (with the lake behind), the par-5 is gorgeous, along the big lake on the left, with a blind and uphill tee shot, and another blind shot over deep rough to reach the wide green (again, next to the lake), and the par-4 4th requires another tee shot over the lake and a tricky second shot, with trees on the left, partially hiding the green, next to the water. As if you did not have enough left doglegs, two more follow with the par-5 5th where, after hitting a blind and uphill tee shot over deep rough landing onto an undulating fairway, you will be left with a long approach to the slightly-elevated green (with more water on the left), and the par-4 6th, with a blind and uphill tee shot... downward to the fairway and another downhill shot to the green. Then, after the nice par-3 7th hole, with its slightly-elevated green (and quite a few rows of bushes in front, and the lake behind), you will move on to the dogleg par-4 8th, with the fairway hugging the lake all along on the left and its slightly-elevated green, before finishing with the straight par-4 9th, with a second shot over the lake (with a nice little covered bridge on the far right). On your way back, you will get a big "water break" for a while, as the lake does not come into play on the first few holes, as you will see, for example, on the straight par-4 11th, with a downhill tee shot landing near a lone tree in the middle of the undulating and narrow fairway (with an elongated bunker behind) and an elevated green, the downhill par-3 12th, or the straight par-4 13th, uphill all the way, with quite a few wide bunkers, scattered midway (and the lake, on the far right). However, on the short right dogleg par-4 14th hole, you will have to think twice before hitting your uphill tee shot over deep rough landing... downward near (or beyond ?) trees in the right corner, hiding behind (and way below) a little stream coming out of the lake, in order to have a clear shot of its slightly-elevated green. You will then finish with four challenging water holes, starting with the left dogleg par-5 15th, with a blind and uphill tee shot over the water landing onto an undulating fairway, and a very tricky (and blind) second shot over trees if you want to reach the slightly-elevated green (with the lake below, on the left), followed by the left dogleg par-4 16th, with the fairway hugging the wide lake on the left and the flag, very close to the lake. Then, after the pretty par-3 17th hole, with trees behind the green, set on the edge of the lake, you will complete your round with the right dogleg par-5 18th, with a blind tee shot over a small bridge and the water, "branching out" from the lake (on the left), landing near or past an elongated bunker in the right corner, and a long shot toward the slightly-elevated green. Needless to say, with so much water around, you will have to be very careful with your shots if you want to finish with a decent scorecard but you will definitely enjoy this Lake Hudson State Park, thanks to Barrylb37's nice layout.

I tested it on LAN, dry, breezy, average, easy, morning. Was a delight to play. The load times gave me enough time to regroup after a bogey (which was frequent LOL), but I feel it was well worth it. The morning lighting was very pretty, and I liked how it was not a grip and rip course, needed to think your way around it. Well done as usual Barry, thanks for the course.

Yes it is a little slow between renditions but well within reason. I can always tell your designs without even knowing who the architect is Barry. Everyone of them is unique in its characteristics and overall appearance. I always love to see new panos, objects, textures and the likes of such. I wont say that this is my favourite of all your designs, but it is certainly a very nice course with abundant eye appeal.
