Just to let you all know, there is a new version that will be released in the very near future. There are numerous changes to the course itself, as well as aesthetic changes that make the course look and play even better.

Thanks Kevin, glad you like the changes. This is 1 course I couldnt just replant since I lost the tca. I started from scratch. Originally I was going to make it as close as possible to the old course, but as I was going, new better holes kept popping up. I think the holes and how they are routed (especially on the back 9), at least to me, feels a lot less forced and more natural this year. I put the main river in when I first started this year, and designed around it, as opposed to when I first made the course, I already had the holes in mind, and didnt use that river as well as I could have, with just having 3 approach shots cross it. Now the course uses close to 600 yards of river front as opposed to probably 100 before.

Another great job John and some nice changes to the course, I dislike when a designer just replants, as we all know you can always improve the design in some way and your improvements were very good. Very challanging greens but fair and a beautiful course to look at as you play. Keep up the good work....Kevin

I think this version is leaps and bounds better than 07. How else can you explain better looking and better running? Keep it up.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I really tried this year to make sure I didnt sacrifice playability (ie crashes as jurgie mentioned) for visual appeal of the flowerbeds. I spent a lot more trying to find the optimal balance between the number of objects and the look of the course, and I think I did a much better job this year. What good is a course that looks nice if no one can play it? Thats what I learned the hard way last year. I also wanna take this time to more personally thank my testers, so thank you very much to Foreleft!, Homeboy, IH_Jimbo, JBCalg, Knobby, Mike1959, Rayfeb09aaa, and SIR PUTTERMAN.

John,I didnt think you could improve on the 07 version of this course. You did! Although the 07 version was first rate, I did have a few crashes on the back nine on highest settings. The 08 version runs smooth as silk all the way through. The overall eye appeal in my opinion is better than the former version. Great job!

I agree, this course is stunning . Loved this course every year it comes out, and the release is just on time after the masters, so we can almost play it again.

Could not agree more with what Roger said.
Great course, John! Very playable on all conditions. Just as beautiful as always! Sumter and Eagle Eye have always been at the top of my favorite list!
Will be a great choice for our TWC Expert Tour this year.

John, another excellent piece of work. I really like your realistic fictional designs. They could be any course in someones area. The look of this course really fits into the area it is set it. I love your incorporation of the many short par 4s making for great strategy and course management. You can really tell this was designed by a golfer. The routing is excellent, planting superb, and the greens are very nasty, very playable, and realistic. This was great fun to test, and will bring many enjoyable rounds. This one goes up on my must play list right next to Lansing.

Beautiful course, John. I really like the Augusta feel with the addition of the Oakmont-style bunkers. You have a knack for designing really challenging, but playable greens. It was a pleasure beta testing this course. Great work.
