A pretty and enjoyable course, with small snow-capped mountains as a panorama, nice sparse plantings, and some nice water holes to deal with. This par 72 starts with the right dogleg par-5 1st hole, with a winding fairway and a slightly-elevated green, followed by the pretty left dogleg par-4 2nd, with three small ponds, next to each other in front of the green, with a wide lake and the mountains behind. The par-3 3rd hole is pretty too, with its wide island green and its nice panoramic view, just like the other par-3, the scenic 6th, with a tee shot over a wide lake and a green, close to it, with wide bunkers in front and in the back. The last three holes are left doglegs : on the par-4 7th, you need to hit a tee shot over a meandering lake across the fairway, midway (which then flows to the left of the fairway and ends almost next to the elevated green) whereas, on the par-4 8th, your second shot will fly over a small meandering river (with a nice covered bridge on the right) to reach the green, unlike on the par-5 9th hole, whose undulating fairway hugs the river on the left, all the way to the wide green, reachable with a second shot over the water... The par-4 10th hole is straight and quite narrow with tall trees on both sides near the tee box, and slightly-uphill all the way, with a tee shot over a small elongated lake, and is followed by the par-3 11th, with another tee shot above a wide lake landing onto a wide green. Another pretty hole awaits you on the right dogleg par-4 12th, with a narrow fairway, hugging an elongated lake on the right, which ends past the green, just like on the right dogleg par-5 13th with, this time, an elongated lake on the left of the slanted fairway and a long approach to the green, set above the water. Water is no longer present on the right dogleg par-4 14th and the par-5 15th holes, but is back on the par-4 16th, with its fairway hugging a small winding creek all along on the right. Then, after the pretty par-3 17th hole, with a tee shot over a dry riverbed and some bushes, you will finish with the left dogleg par-4 18th, with water all along the fairway on the left and ending past the green. Well-designed by ron717, this Kiger Ridge course is a nice tribute to some of the players who passed away, with its peaceful and serene atmosphere, albeit it is not too difficult, if you can avoid the water hazards along the way...
