A spectacular fantasy course with, once again, the Sedona mountains as a backdrop, requiring patience as you will face plenty of head-scratching decisions before hitting your shots, and stamina, as you will walk down a lot of vertiginous holes before trying to break par on a few sloped greens, hard to read... while being out of breath !
The right dogleg par-1st hole sets the tone for what you will “endure” with its gorgeous downhill panoramic view (and nice fence around the green), but you won’t have too much time to enjoy it as the sound of very lonely (?) wolves howling in the canyon will quickly “force” you to move on to the left dogleg par-2nd, with a downhill tee shot landing next to a lake (midway, on the right), before aiming your approach toward its steeply-elevated green.
After two more downhill left dogleg holes (the par-4 3rd, along a small ravine, on the left, and the par-5 4th, with a blind and steeply-uphill green, hard to reach on your second shot), you will reach the par-3 5th, quite pretty with its panoramic view as your tee shot flies downward to the green.
The next two holes are right dogleg par-4s, with a downhill tee shot (on the wide open 6th), landing onto a plateau, followed by a risky approach, further downhill to the green (with a small elongated lake below to watch for, on the right), and a slightly-uphill tee shot over a big ditch, filled with a few trees, across the fairway, before aiming your approach downward to the small green, on the 7th.
On the left dogleg par-5 8th hole, you will have to think twice, after your downhill tee shot flies over some trees and a small lake (on the right), landing near another lake (below, on the left), if you want to gamble on your second shot above the water to try to reach its elevated green, before facing the par-3 9th, with a blind and steeply-downhill tee shot toward its green, set next to a big lake (on the left).
After a short “relief” on the straight par-4 10th hole, with its downhill tee shot and steeply-elevated green, and the par-4 11th, with a downhill tee shot over trees, and its green, slightly to the right, you will move on to the scenic left dogleg par-4 12th, downhill with a fairway, set between a lake, midway (on the left) and a canyon (on the right), before “enjoying” two right dogleg par-4 holes, the 13th, with a slightly-uphill tee shot above a small ditch landing onto a slanted fairway, and an elevated green, and the easier, but original 14th, with a downhill tee shot over a small lake across landing onto a narrow tree-lined fairway (with another fairway, on the left), and a big pond, right behind the lake.
If your legs and arms are not too shaky, you will enjoy the scenic but tough par-3 15th hole, with a blind tee shot over a lake (and trees on its edge) toward the hidden green, before walking... uphill all the way on the par-5 16th, with a tee shot over a tiny pond and a big ditch (filled with a few trees), and a blind tee shot toward the green, hard to reach on your second shot.
Last, but not least, the right dogleg par-5 17th hole, with its blind tee shot over a fence landing steeply down (and those howling wolves around !), and the par-3 18th, with its steeply downhill green, hidden by trees and surrounded halfway by a fence (beware of the wind when choosing your club !), are both gorgeous, offering more postcard panoramic views of the Sedona canyon.
With its very challenging layout, along with nice plantings and elevation work, Eppiedad succeeded in combining beauty and toughness (just as he did in his previous versions), but don’t cry... wolf too often on this par 72, or the real ones might show up !

Thanks everyone for the comments! There is OB to the right of the bunker on # 6 if you are getting a OB while you are in the bunker must be a game glitch!#18 Also has OB behind the green so i really dont know why its not playing that way Vexxx. Sorry if any of you are having some problems, they are not showing up when i tested the course and when i play it weekly online with friends.

Super course, as others have noted a real challenge. I have had no gameplay issues at all, plays like a dream.

Thanks for all the hard work, look forward to more releases from you.

Ill second that, one of the few courses that ive played more that once consecutively.

This is a real thinking course, every shot has to be carefully executed to give you the best possible approach to be able to land the ball just in the right spot on the green. You cant just fire at the pin on this one. The greens are tricky and fast (The great Augusta debate??) but it can be done.

As far as graphics and gameplay issues go, I have not seen anything yet. The only thing that is evident are the greyed out distant trees but this is a two8 game rendering issue which always occurs when you have a course where you can see into the distance, most courses have tall tree lined fairways so you dont see this effect. Just hike up the tree detail distance which helps a bit.

Ps i had no prblems with this course it played very smoothly.. The greens were exlent a good chalenge but not so hard that its impossable to play them ..
i dont know about some of the comments but i think if your over shooting the greens you need to do yr math /or do what i do (think outside of the box)
some shots are just a punch shot to get close to a pin Hows that for a hint Gr8 course Awsome fun!!!!

Hi all just anote to let you know that im avalable to play . Just about any time.

I too think this is a finely crafted course and a fan of all your past efforts. But on this one I ran into a problem (unlike any I have ever encountered) while playing a round online last night. HOLE 6, on my approach shot to the green I ended up in the bunker just right of the flag, which then informed me I was OB...odd. I hope there is a fix for this, as I really enjoyed playing this course, and loath dropping shots not due to my own short comings.

love this course but i do have a problem with the 18th i went over the green by 70 yards i had the right club for the distance but it went 90 yards more than it said, it was a what the ... moment but then the fun started there was no way i could get the ball back to the green no matter what club i used took a concede. anyone else found this problem

Cant really agree with the previous comments. In my opinion the 06 version is by far the best of the trio. An abundance of trees and shrubs gives the 06 version a very eye appealing look. In both the 07 and 08 version a couple of obvious distractions are immediately noticeable. In both the later versions you have the distant terrain generating itself during the flight of the ball, not too mention the bleached out trees in the background. Several floating trees as well as cabins with foundations not solidly on the ground. In the later two versions playing very dry and breezy conditions results in tedious efforts to just trying to keep the ball in play. Yes, the terrain was somewhat radical in 06 as well, but at least you could hold a green and fairway once in awhile. When playing with computer players, it is laughable to see some of the stupid shots they make because of the unorthodox fairways and greens. In one instance I had a computer player hit a drive which ended up right against the foundation of a cabin. The next shot went right through the foundation and the cabin wall and landed just short of the green. The 06 version will always remain my favourite of the three versions.

GR8 course, loved the elevation work although i had to get up after 3 holes and take my seasick pills. I dont judge a course on all the technical aspects of golf course design i go by first impressions and gut feel - this one is a keeper for sure. Someone should find a location and build this in real life.
