A beautiful course with a nice panorama (small mountains, lakes), colorful trees, and a very natural look to it. This par 71 has plenty of blind downhill/uphill tee and/or approach shots and a few water hazards to avoid, not to mention some well-placed bunkers. On the front 9, I like the uphill par-4 2nd hole, all the way to the green, slightly to the right, and the nice par-5 3rd, with a small creek way below on the right side, a downhill tee shot and a slightly-uphill green. The next four holes are worth mentioning too : on the par-4 6th, you will hit a downhill tee shot over some... dead trees around a small pond, while trying to avoid a few bunkers in the middle of the fairway, before hitting your approach shot to the slightly-elevated green. The straight par-4 7th hole has a sloped fairway all the way to the green with a little creek right behind, whereas the par-3 8th will require another blind downhill tee shot to reach the green, partially hidden by trees on the left side. As for the par-5 9th hole, it is quite scenic with a downhill tee shot next to a small hill on the left side (and a creek on the right) and with the green, to the right, guarded by a big bunker at the end of the creek. The back 9 is not to be overlooked either : the right dogleg par-4 10th hole is quite nice, with a sloped and slanted fairway, with deep rough on the right, a big bunker on the left, and the green further downhill, and is followed by another right dogleg, the par-4 11th, with two uphill shots to reach the wide and elevated green. If the par-3 12th hole has a nice view with a tee shot over some hollow wasteland full of bushes, one of my favorite holes is the gorgeous right dogleg par-4 13th, with a blind tee shot over trees in the right corner landing on a heavily-sloped and slanted fairway, and an approach shot over a small creek (with more dead trees in !) to reach the green, set on a plateau ! Then, after the nice par-4 14th hole, slightly to the right, with a big serpentine bunker on the right side and a smaller one on the left (in the middle of the fairway), you will reach another one of my favorite holes, the very scenic par-3 15th, with a blind tee shot going way down over a lake (with a bridge on the right side and more dead trees below !) to reach the green on the other bank. The straight par-4 16th hole, with a blind tee shot downhill all the way to the green, a small pond on the left side and a creek on the right, and the left dogleg par-4 17th, with a blind tee shot downhill onto a wide green, will set the stage for the very long (more than 640 yards) par-5 18th hole, with a downhill and twisted fairway, with a few bunkers to watch for, and a wide green to putt for a last birdie opportunity. Overall, with its nice overall views, beautiful elevation and bunker work, this par 71 is a pure delight to watch and play and really does not look like a fantasy course, thanks to the... eagle eye of eaglphan !
