This par 72 is unlike any others you have ever played, with plenty of undulating fairways (quite narrow sometimes) and pot bunkers, set in the middle of a beautiful desert panorama with huge cacti, dirt areas filled with a few bushes, and lots of small mounds and deep rough all around. The opening left dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a blind tee shot landing onto an undulating fairway, and the short and slightly-uphill (around 340 yards) par-4 2nd, with a bunker in front of the green (to the right), will give you a taste of what to expect. But my favorite holes on the front 9 are the scenic right dogleg par-4 3rd, with a downhill tee shot landing onto another undulating fairway and an uphill approach to the green, and the straight par-3 4th hole, with dirt and deep rough all the way to the green. If the par-3 7th hole is straight, it is quite tricky with a very narrow green, with two bunkers to watch for (front and back), but I prefer the left dogleg par-4 8th, with its downhill tee shot landing near three bunkers in the corner (making the fairway quite narrow), and a second shot to the elevated green, and the slightly-uphill left dogleg par-5 9th hole, with 5 pot bunkers, spread in front of the green ! The back 9 starts with the pretty and quite challenging right dogleg par-5 10th hole, with a downhill and scenic tee shot landing near some bunkers (and deep rough) and a very long second shot toward the green, and continues with the par-3 11th, with only dirt between the tee box and the green (with a pot bunker in the middle !). Then, after the par-3 13th hole, quite tough, with a tiny green, guarded by 6 (!) small pot bunkers, you will face later on the straight and slightly-uphill par-4 16th, with hardly any undulation but with some dirt and a few rocks splitting the fairway across, midway, and an uphill blind shot landing... downhill to the green, set between two elongated bunkers (front and back). Finally, the par-5 18th hole, with its narrow and undulating fairway (with plenty of deep rough and bunkers along), and its blind, very long and slightly-uphill second shot toward the... downhill green (hidden behind a few big rocks set on a small mound), will challenge you one last time. Well-designed by BullPupp2, this Rattlesnake Gulch course will definitely surprise you, not only with its original landscape but also with its abundant traps which can easily... rattle you if another one of your shots... bites the dust !

Nice work, Some areas are like playing on the moon(LOL). Good placement on the bunkers and tall sticky things.

I cant say that I had a noticeable lag issue with this course. However, I did not play the course online but did play it with three other computer players. I liked this course for several reasons. First, the pano and the course compliment each other very well. The textures and hole layout are quite unique and set it appart from a lot of other desert designs. There might be a little too much fairway undulations to suit most people but in my opinion it just adds to the character of the course. A very good design offering a nice change of pace.
