After his Irish Barrens course, here is another pretty and challenging design, done by Barrylb37, with a nice hilly panorama to gaze at, sparsely-planted trees, a few water hazards and with, once again, plenty of elevation changes, some tight and undulating fairways and a few difficult greens, with a little slope and some small bunkers, with... grey sand (for a nice change !) to watch for. On the front 9, my favorite holes are the left dogleg par-4 2nd, with an undulating fairway and a blind and uphill second shot around a big hill (on the left) to reach the green, the par-3 3rd, with trees close to the tee box (on the left) and a blind and steeply-downhill tee shot (with a great panoramic view as your reach the green), and the straight par-4 4th, with a steeply-downhill tee shot landing onto a narrow and winding tree-lined fairway, and a tiny pond to watch for, behind the elevated green. But the most beautiful hole is the gorgeous, but very difficult, downhill par-3 6th, with a tee shot above trees on a hilltop (facing the tee box on the left side) and a sloped fairway, and a small green, with a great panoramic view of a wide lake, further behind. On the next two holes, you will have to be careful, starting with the par-5 7th, with its undulating and sloped fairway and a long and blind second shot toward the elevated and undulating green (with four small bunkers (left and right) to avoid, and followed by the par-4 8th, downhill all the way and with a small pond, next to the green (on the left), and a lake further beyond. You will finish with the left dogleg par-5 9th hole (quite long, more than 600 yards, and with a steeply-elevated green), before walking over to another left dogleg par-5, the 10th, shorter but with a downhill tee shot landing onto a narrow and winding fairway and an uphill second shot toward its elevated green. The par-4 13th hole, uphill all the way, is, on another hand, quite tricky, especially with its blind second shot over some trees needed to reach the green (set on another hilltop), but you should not underestimate the left dogleg par-4 15th, with a steeply-downhill tee shot offering a beautiful view of the valley and a... steeply-uphill approach to the green. Finally, on the left dogleg par-4 17th hole, you will get another pretty view of the valley, after hitting a steeply-downhill tee shot and another steeply-uphill approach to reach the green, before moving on to the nice left dogleg par-5 18th, uphill all the way but very tough and long (more than 650 yards !) where, needless to say, you can forget about scoring an eagle, with a long second shot needed to get around around a big hill (on the left) and another uphill shot toward its small green. Well-designed by Barrylb37 (as usual...), and quite enjoyable to watch and play, this par 72 is not as tough as his Irish Barrens course (filled with plenty of wide bunkers, deep rough and more water hazards), but it is not easy, by any means, and if you are not patient and think twice before hitting your approach shots, you will go nuts on this... Koko Head Park Country Club !

Great art in motion! This course really looks super. We have A course here in Hot Springs,SD that looks much the same as this(But without the palm trees mixing with the pines). Thanks for letting us play!

Excellent design!! I still hate the word fantasy for courses of this quality.lol. I would rather see them called something like Personally designed.

Outstanding course! Barry, youre a master at evelation work. A lot of blind shots here, especially if you stray off the fairways. Nice attention to detail, right down to the cart paths. Thanks Barry.

Glad you all like the course. those blue colored hill are the pano showing through at 1000 yds. I tried to lay the course out so that most holes are oriented so that it didnt happen, but it is visible in a couple of views. Couldnt be helped without cropping off the hills, and i didnt want to do that. overall, i think the pano worked really well.
thanks homeboy, it was a tough plot, didnt want to cooperate.(dont tell anyone, but this was my second try, scrapped the first one.)

I am in total agreeance with Rogers comments here Barry. Would also like to add that I liked the unique sand textures in the bunkers. I dont know wether you would even term this as an abnormality, but on the 9th Tee, looking back from the 10th Green towards the Tee and on the 11th tee there is a stange opaque blue color to part of the hills in the pano. These blue colored hills seem to vanish once the ball is in flight. I dont know wether anyone else is seeing this. It is no big deal but I thought I would mention this just for your information. Great course!

Wow Barry ... great job designing a real tough, but very playable course out of a difficult plot to work with.
Love the views on the course (especially hole 3) and how it really looks like you worked with the natural terrain, rather than bringing in the excavators to move lots of earth.
Really like the 5th hole with the uphill dogleg, the fairway undulations throughout and the cross-bunkering on 12.
That uphill 668 yard par 5 to finish your round will make or break your score ... driver-driver-5 wood :) Excellent work!
