Despite an autumnal panorama looking a little bit "unnatural" on a few holes, this par 72 is gorgeous with its breathtaking views (around small rocky cliffs, ponds, and a wide lake), and its very challenging holes, especially on the back 9.
You will start your journey with the beautiful dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a couple of trees on the edge of a lake (on the right) and big elongated bunkers, almost surrounding the green, before hitting later on a steeply-uphill tee shot between the tree-lined fairway toward the narrow green of the scenic par-3 3rd hole.
Then, after three "easier" dogleg holes, you will need your "A game" for the rest of the course, starting with the par-5 7th hole, slightly-uphill all the way, with a tee shot over an elongated bunker, and a long and tough second shot over another big elongated bunker (on the left) to reach the green, before facing the scenic par-3 8th, with small hills on both sides of the narrow and downhill fairway, and a tiny green (surrounded by deep rough), and the beautiful right dogleg par-5 9th, slightly-uphill all the way, with a wide bunker and a couple of trees (in the right corner), and a tough approach over a lake toward the green, surrounded by a few small rocks with nice flowers on top.
Believe or not, the "best" has yet to come as you head back home...
Another par-5 hole awaits you with the right dogleg 10th, quite pretty with its fences and flowers around the tee box, and a lake near the tee box (on the left), an uphill tee shot and a very long approach through a narrow tree-lined fairway to reach the green, slightly... downhill.
The following par-4 11th hole will offer you an unusual sight, with a big bunker, branching out all over the fairway, leaving hardly any place for your tee shot to land, just like on your tough second shot toward the green, with that bunker ending in front, and a stream running past on the left and behind to watch for.
You will then move on to the pretty right dogleg par-4 12th hole, with a tee shot flying past two tall trees (on the edge of a small pond, on the right) and landing past the creek crossing the fairway, midway, and an uphill approach over a twisted bunker in front of the green, before heading... back the other way with the scenic par-3 13th, with a downhill tee shot flying above that small pond.
As you stand on the tee box of the gorgeous and short par-4 15th hole (one of my favorites), don't be fooled by its straight line as it is very tricky, with its narrow fairway dropping near the end onto a small rocky peninsula where you will see its tiny green (on the edge of a wide lake behind), potentially reachable with your driver...
The left dogleg par-5 16th hole is not a piece of cake either, with a narrow fairway, winding its way around the lake on the left, leaving you with a long second shot over the water if you want to reach its narrow, elevated and crescent-shaped green.
As for the last two holes, take a few more shots with your... camera, before grabbing your clubs, as the par-3 17th hole is simply spectacular, with a blind tee shot downward over the lake landing onto a tiny green, set on a small rocky plateau (with nice flowers and a gazebo above on the rocky cliff), just like the par-4 18th, straight but quite challenging with a slightly-uphill tee shot landing onto a narrow fairway (with the lake on both sides) and a tough approach over the water to reach the small peninsula green.
With its nice fences, plantings, colorful flowers, elevation changes and water hazards, this Canadian Rock Gardens course is a pure delight to watch and play and one that I will definitely add to my (already) long collection of Bullpupp2's designs...

Stunning, imaginative.. And darn tough! This is a really creative track with a mix of quirky holes and crafty holes (not a straightforward layout) with the one constant being the difficulty - it's tough from tee to green on most holes. Visually, it's absolutely gorgeous.. like, seriously good-looking! The 3 winners for me were the 13th, 15th and 17th - all gems. Amazing work, especially for an earlier effort by the designer - it's a heck of a course, cheers!

More than 7 years since the previous comment but I gotta tellya this course is a forgotten gem! If this course really existed, you'd be making a beeline to Quebec "toute de suite". This is the second back-catalogue course I've played this past week & both have been real eye-openers. I'm off to track down more golden oldies...

In my experience, if you have trees seemingly floating above the terrain, it is normally the result of elevation work, post planting. Hope this helps.

I did not mean my comment to be taken as a personal criticism towards you and your ablities as a designer. I realize there always seem to be problems when converting an older design to the 08 platform. I think with me the pano was the biggest issue. I thought that there were several great fall panos that showed up in 07. A better looking pano in my opinion would help this course tremendously. My appologies if you took offense to my comment.

This was actually an 06 course that I never finished. I thought it was a good design and played well. I also thought the green were rather mellow. One of the hardest things as a designer is to get the greens tough enough on normal but playable on very dry. This was my first pano as I wanted an autumn theme and there was not many pics to choose from. As far as the trees up in the air, I am having that problem often and no one can seem to figure it out. I appreciate all comments so I see what people like and dislike and any errors I make that I can improve on. I hope you like my next course better.

I dont have a problem with the actual course or textures except that on some holes it is somewhat extreme when playing Extra Dry Conditions. I also noticed several trees that stood above the terrain. The pano is somewhat sub standard. I have never seen hills like these. If this was strictly intended as a fantasy course then I guess its OK because then almost anything goes. After Smugglers Notch, this was a dissappointment for me.
