A pretty, yet not overly difficult course, with a nicer and more challenging back 9, with water hazards coming into play. My favorite holes on the front 9 are the right dogleg par-4 3rd, with an uphill tee shot landing down onto a sloped fairway, followed by a slightly-downhill approach to the green, the par-3 7th, with a blind tee shot downward to the sloped green, and the par-5 9th, with a steeply-downill (and blind) tee shot and another long shot, downward to the green, slightly to the right. But you will face the most beautiful holes on your way back, starting with the gorgeous par-3 12th, with a blind and downhill tee shot over a wide lake (and its small green to aim for), and the scenic right dogleg par-4 13th, with a tee shot along a serpentine stream (on the right) and a tricky approach toward the green, with more water behind, all around. The finishing stretch is nice too : on the left dogleg par-4 15th, you will need to hit an uphill tee shot and a downhill approach to reach its small green (with a nice view around), whereas on the short left dogleg par-5 16th, after a downhill tee shot, you should have a golden eagle opportunity if your approach lands short of the big (and pretty) pond behind the small green. You will then face the picturesque par-3 17th hole, with a tee shot over the meandering stream, crossing the fairway diagonally, before finishing with the par-5 18th, slightly-uphill, with a serpentine stream on the right (but not coming into play) and a long approach toward the green. With its nice plantings (I really liked those... dead trees around some of the greens, and did not mind too much the bright color around them) and sloped fairways, this par 72 will test you on a few holes, with water to deal with and a few tricky greens to reach, but if you can manage to score eagles or birdies on the par-5s, you should finish with a low scorecard on this Penns Woods Golf Club, another very enjoyable course from Eaglphan.

tspenik and jurgie: I do appreciate your comments. Thanks for taking the time to do that. I dont have any secrets lol that I know of. Ive only designed a few courses, and try to make them how I would like a golf course to be. I dunno. As far as the fringe/collar issue, I understand what you are saying. I think a reason I do this is on some courses I play, that sometimes it is kind of dark around the green, and felt this would make the green stand out a tad better. Ill tone them down a notch :-)
Thanks again for the kind words

I dont exactly know how you are accomplishing this but just as your Rushworth Course, I am able to play this course on Medium Shader Level and have the water look better than on Low setting. Not only that, but the buildings do not darken down and loose their detail. Maybe you can share your secret with the other designers? LOL. Anyway, youve got yourself another gem here my boy. I am however in total agreeance with tspenik, regarding the contrasting color textures of the collars arround the greens. They are not offensive, but they do detract and I think it would be a more attractive and natural look if they were closer in color and texture to the fairways. I know this effect has been used in numerous designs of the past, and I have never cared for it. Other than that, splendid work.

Eaglphan is, in my opinion, an unusually gifted designer. This course is a delight to see and to play. The con the light green fringe around the greens detracts from the otherwise very realistic feel while playing this course. Also, the FULL CAPS are unnecessary, since the talent speaks for itself.
