Great course, with the toughest greens I've experienced, dry or very dry. Kudos.

Great looking course with tough greens and undulating fairways. Very Dry greens may not be playable unless you have an extra hour to kill.

Beautiful course with undulated and/or narrow fairways, blind shots, tricky greens. Love the par-3 2nd and 15th holes where you really need to hit a great shot to land on the green. As for the par-5 10th hole, if you play like I do with pro tees and difficult pin placement, watch out for the water to the left of the flag which is just next to it... Belated congratulations Instigatordj001 !

Man, I love playing this course. It just has a cool thing going on with the tight fairways, tuff approach shots, and greens that were very ticky if in bad spot. The designers just did a great job, and I was looking around at everything just like if I was out on a real course playing golf. Limbs stuck out in the fairways just right if you weren't on the right side of the fairway of the tee, and I loved every minute playing this course. Thanks for your time making this course......

Its been awhile since a comment has been posted about this rendition of PH, but I have to add to the others with a very well done! Ive played PH a bazillion times in the past (won a tournament for my flight once after buying the then brand new Callaway Big Berthas). Almost all (not quite very one) holes were done extremely well and realistic. Sounds were a bit of a problem as they didnt quite fit the area (imho), but I have CDs of various area natural sounds which I can play seperately to more fit the bill so to speak.
BTW to other designers reading this: Ikistler is right on... an ENORMOUS fun factor of any course is the AURAL portion. PLEASE lay back on them and choose wisely! :-)
Anyhooo, very well done and very much an enjoyable course to play cyber-wise. I am unable to play that $#^%^%#$! course anymore, and still have trouble scoring well even in cyberspace ha-ha. High marks from me. WTG! Scott

VERY good rendition on every aspect I saw except for one...the bird sounds are funky and dont match. A loon is possible but highly unlikely and at least three of the bird sounds are not real or unbelievable computerizations. One sounds like a human doing it with his lips, one sounds like some electronic buzz, and one is a mismash of bird sounds Ive never heard in California or the United States. A HUGE part of the enjoyment for me is the realism of the environment and that means aural as well as visual.
Kudos on the visual...needs some work on the aural.

Instigatordj001....Sorry to hear about your problems with the rough grass texture..it must surely be very annoying.,but the course is still one of the best out there. My thanks to you and the other designers for constantly battling these problems and still managing to produce such excellent courses.

@ Putt
Yeah I have encountered glitches with texture use. Last year, I found that using one texture rough in the entire course in some instances would cause those on some holes to become transparent. This year the textures do not go transparent, but instead lose their blades.

Very good course. The views from the greens are very realistic with undulating ground covered with bushes and trees..,so much better than the couple of trees and the acres of flat green you see on some courses. Was not so happy with some of the grass,or rather grassless, textures and some of texture joins were stark to say the least. It is though a hugely enjoyable course .

Let me start off by saying, that I was totally blown away by your 07 version of this course. I have seen a number of renditions of Poppy in TW as well as Links, and you have been the first to ever capture the true essence of this course. I took both your 07 & 08 version and played them in the 08 game with all settings set to highest, Shader Level low, at 1680 x 1050 res. on a Viewsonic 22 Widescreen. Both of the courses run super smooth with absolutely no lag. Two things came to my immediate attention. The tall rough in 07 looks a lot more natural because it does stand up and not lay over as it does in the 08 version. I was unable to remedy that problem with any available settings. The second thing is the dreaded pano seam issue that was all too prevelant in TW07 with the conversion courses and not near as noticeable with customs in TW08. However in this case it is just the opposite. Although visible on certain holes in the 07 version in the 08 version they appear with much more frequency. I think in overall appearance, both versions rate fairly well the same, although as I mentioned, I prefer the deep rough look in the 07 version to the 08. I dont know what changes you made to the greens, I thought they were perfect in 07. Having had the pleasure of playing this course on several occasions, I can tell you that that is part of the true essence and beauty of this course. Brutal greens, strategicaly placed bunkers, along with the unforgiving rough. I first played it when it opened, and at that time it was really tricked up. When the PGA first included it in the AT&T, the pros complained about it so much that the course was significantly changed to accomodate them. Anyway, both your versions are great but I think I will stick with the 07 version in 08.
