I, originally, thought that Tour 18 Houston was a fantasy course until I read the general info and starting playing it.
It turns out that this par 72 is a lot of fun, a sort of "best of" of some of the most famous holes in the US. In other words, a... fantasy come true !
My favorite holes, on the front 9, are the very tough and sharp dogleg par-5 2nd hole, with its big lake on the left (replica of Bay Hill's 6th hole), the par-3 6th (= 12th at Augusta), the par-4 7th (= 13th at Augusta) and the dogleg par-4 9th hole, with its big lake on the right side (= 17th at Sawgrass).
On the back 9, nice but not as spectacular, my favorite holes are the last 3 : the par-4 16th (= 11th at Merion), the par-3 17th, with its big lake on the left side (= 8th at Oak Tree) and the left dogleg par-4 18th (= 18th at Doral).
As always, original versions are better than copies but recreating 18 of some of the greatest holes in one course was a great idea.
Ganesh did a very good job, even though this course could have been even more spectacular if houses around the fairways had been included. But, nonetheless, you are going to have a ball playing on this course !
