A very scenic and challenging course but, unfortunately, the only one from this designer who passed away before his talent could be recognized... (see Danut Golf’s comment below).
With a lake surrounded by small mountains as a panorama, this par 72 will test your skills with plenty of water holes, quite a few elevation changes and some undulating greens.
The front 9 starts with two right doglegs, the par-4 1st hole, with a tee shot over an elongated lake winding its way, left and right, and the par-5 2nd, with a serpentine fairway and a tough and blind second shot toward the peninsula undulating green.
The par-3 3rd hole is pretty, with a tee shot flying through the narrow tree-lined fairway (and above a lake) and landing onto the green, surrounded by small bunkers, and is followed by the left dogleg par-4 4th, with a risky tee shot landing near a horseshoe-shaped lake, and a long approach to the elevated green, with a small elongated pond on the right.
I also like two other holes, the beautiful par-3 6th, with a blind tee shot flying downward to the green, guarded by a tiny pond in front, and the pretty uphill right dogleg par-4 9th, with a nice panoramic view of the mountains and the lake and a blind approach to the green, surrounded halfway by water (with a nice little wooden bridge on the right).
Coming back, you will face a very pretty and tough 3-hole stretch : the par-3 11th is simply gorgeous, with a tee box framed by two trees, and a blind tee shot over an elongated lake to reach the downhill green (with a beautiful panoramic view), and so is the par-5 left dogleg 12th, with a risky tee shot over a serpentine lake and over which you will have to hit a challenging second (or third shot) to reach the steeply-elevated green.
As for the straight, scenic and very risky par-4 13th hole, all along a wide lake on the left, you will have to hit a perfect tee shot over the water to land your ball onto a peninsula portion of the fairway before hitting a long approach over the lake again to reach its... peninsula green.
Then, after the short (around 310 yards) left dogleg par-4 14th hole, with a blind tee shot landing downhill and a second shot uphill to the green (with water halfway around on the left and behind), you will face the pretty right dogleg par-4 15th, with a tee shot over some trees landing short of a wide lake, over which you will have to hit your approach to reach the wide and slightly-elevated green.
You will finish your round with the nice par-3 16th hole, with a tee shot over the lake and an elevated green, followed by the pretty dogleg par-4 17th, around a wide lake on the left, before having a last eagle opportunity on the left dogleg par-5 18th hole, with a big elongated bunker to the right, midway (and a smaller one on the left), and a long second shot toward the green.
Pretty to look at and quite challenging, this Heber Springs is a definite keeper for me and you should definitely enjoy it too !

Well, I just got the sad news of what happen to this designer, and I hope I didn't say anything to offend anyone. I just thought this design had some great skills going on with it being his1st ever............
It gave me great inspiration with being a new designer myself, but was sad at the same time when I seen no more releases from the date of this release.....

My apologies if I was out of line with anything I said

Was warming up for the tour just now, and I'm not to sure if you are still designing or not after looking at the date of this first release just now, but this was a nice course for your first effort..... :)
I don't think I've played very many 1st releases since being here, and I've only played one by accident so far, I think. That one was good too by the way, and the elevation work was very daring for a 1st timer.
Well, there I go getting off subject again, but what I'm trying to say is, you did well for your 1st course....

Boy , that 4 hole stretch, I think it was 13 through 16, was a bear, and kicked me right in the teeth, but my skill set isn't what some can play so it might just be me. Might kill some players chances with how well they do in the tour this week, but those that play those holes well should reap the benefits. Hope my 1st ever release plays OK like this one & other courses I've played, but I didn't realize this was your 1st course while playing it just now, and if you aren't doing designing anymore it a shame because I thought while playing this course you could become well accomplished like the other designers courses I've played here. I hope nothing bad happened in real life to make ya have to stop. I'm still learning things, but I am just now starting to get a OK feel for what a design brings to the table, and I felt the elevation work grew in skill as the course progressed. You even had some nice touches with plantings too.
Well, if your still here, and under a different name or something, let me know in this comment section.

Thanks for your time while making this course

I live just a few miles up the road from the real place. I was glad to see this, even if it doesn't exist. You nailed the "hills and hollers" in this part of the world. Most fun 15 over I've ever played. Gonna beat this one yet!

Very nice course, awesome job, I will be playing this one more than once... hole 6 is my favorite, looking down to the green was just fantastic.
