Another pretty course, using a few libraries (5, if you add “The Ocean course, Kiawah Island” from 2007, which is not included), very hilly, with a few ravines and canyons, and tough with plenty of water to deal with and a lot of blind approaches toward the (often) undulating or sloping greens. You will off to a challenging start with the short and gorgeous dogleg right par-4 1st hole, with a blind and downhill tee shot between two tall trees set on a small island in the middle of a wide lake, before seeing your first cabin behind the slightly-elevated green. On the dogleg left par-5 2nd hole, your blind and uphill tee shot will have to avoid some bunkers (midway in the left corner) and land, hopefully, short of a huge bunker across the downhill slope, if you want to have a decent chance of reaching the green with a very long second shot over a serpentine river crossing the fairway diagonally. Then, after the nice and straight par-3 3rd hole, with a tee shot over that serpentine river again, and its sloping green, you will face later on the beautiful dogleg par-4 5th, around a wide lake (on the right) and with an elevated green, before “enjoying” the dogleg right par-4 6th, with a blind and downhill tee shot over a small canyon across (with a little bit of water in it). If the dogleg right par-4 7th hole is pretty, with a blind tee shot landing past a small ravine (in the inner corner on the right) and along a wide canyon (on the left), and a downhill approach to the green, wait until you see the short, but very difficult, par-5 9th ! Bending sharply around a wide lake (on the right), you will need to hit a blind and downhill tee shot over a small part of the lake branching out, while making sure to avoid an elongated bunker, in the middle of the fairway, before aiming your approach toward its slightly-elevated green, hard to reach on your second shot as you will have to hit your approach over the big lake again. Coming back, you will start with the short and “cozy” dogleg par-4 10th hole, along a small hill (on the left) and with an elevated and heavily-sloped green, surrounded halfway by a rocky hilltop filled with trees, before facing the very scenic and challenging dogleg right par-4 11th, with a blind and downhill tee shot landing in front of a deep serpentine ravine, on the left (with water below), over which you will have to hit a blind shot to reach its steeply-elevated and wide green (reachable on foot via a beautiful stone bridge). On the dogleg par-5 12th hole, thankfully, you should be able to get an eagle opportunity after hitting a blind and steeply-downhill tee shot over a half-moon shaped small canyon (with water in it) and a blind and uphill second shot downward to the green, before enjoying the wide open view as you tee off on the dogleg right par-4 13th, with a blind tee shot over the river winding its way across the wide fairway, midway, and an elevated green. You will then reach the nice dogleg left par-4 14th hole, along a rocky hilltop (on the right) where, after a slightly-downhill tee shot, you will need to fire a blind and steeply-uphill second shot downward to reach the green, while making sure to avoid a big bunker at the bottom of the big slope, in front of it. Another dogleg hole awaits you, with the par-4 15th, uphill all the way and bending to the right, with two big bunkers, set on a high plateau, midway, and a blind approach to the undulating green, before moving on to take advantage of the nice panoramic view as you hit your blind tee shot over the serpentine river downward to the green on the par-3 16th hole. Finally, after the "easy" and straight par-4 17th hole, despite its undulating fairway, you will complete your round with the dogleg right par-4 18th, with a downhill tee shot and a blind approach to its slightly-elevated green, overlooking the wide lake. Well-designed by M.G.A. Hover, with nice plantings and those cabins, scattered all along the course, this par 72 will definitely test your patience and skills, and you will pay the price dearly if you want to gamble too much trying to go for broke on some shots over the water. In fact, if you can finish below par, you should be “Hover”joyed !

Good course. The tee shot from the first hole is a bit tricky and another hole later on is a nightmare!
Enjoyable.

Important: This course requires TW07 stock library: ocean course, kiawah island 07 The problem about the missing library: ocean course, kiawah island is because you already have ocean course, kiawah island 08 in game, but you will also need 07 version. Not available for download, but you can put in TW08 game, when you still have TW07 installed.

re: AS a last resort yopu might not want to resort to at all you could try a total TW08 reinstall. Have yoiu tried reinstalling the library it asks for?
the library it asks for is The Ocean Course,Kiawah Island.tcl which is a stock 2008 library which is already installed and thats the one it asks for, tried uninstalling course with no joy, asks the same again

Try uninstalling the course with course utilities. Then reinstall it......this has helped a few people I know who have had that problem. Believe me....this course is worth it. Best of the year so far, and It will be hard pressed for someone to top this one.

One of the best put together courses in quite some time. Very challenging yet fair even on very dry. Be precise on your approach or you will pay the price. Superb layout, and a very beautiful course!! BRAVO!!!
