Nice little course with no gimmicks around and where you will just have to concentrate on your shots. With bare land between the horizon and the layout, you won't spend too much time gazing at the scenery and/or the plantings, so you will have no excuses if you end up in the OB areas, mentioned by jmwall24 in the general info. After a nice par-3 2nd hole, with a green close to the lake on the right, you might have a chance for an eagle on the par-5 4th hole, slightly to the left, provided that you stand clear of trees on the left side in order to have a... clear view of the flag. Then, after the nice par-3 5th hole, with a shallow wasteland with bushes in the middle and an elevated green, you will reach the short left dogleg par-4 6th hole, with a narrow tree-lined fairway near the green. But my favorite holes on the front 9 are the last two : the very scenic left dogleg par-5 8th, with its wide open view, its big lake on the right side and the green very close to it, and the right dogleg par-4 9th hole, with water on the left side, and a nice clubhouse further above the green. On the back 9, I like the par-3 11th hole with a tee shot over the big lake, the dogleg par-5 14th hole, with a river running along the fairway on the right side all the way to the green and the left dogleg par-4 15th with a lake on the left side, trees slightly in the middle of the fairway and a river running on the right side. Reaching the green of the short par-4 16th hole won't be easy, even with the slightly downhill green, but it might be worth trying as the par-3 17th is quite tough with a tiny green and the flag, very close to the lake. As for the par-5 18th hole, with the lake on the right side, you might be able to reach the green on your second shot for a last eagle and/or birdie opportunity... This fantasy course, while not spectacular or overly difficult, is down-to-earth and is well designed, thanks to jmwall24 !

Very well done. A nice long course - where you can grip and rip at times. Still will need to place your shots so that can have a go at pin for next shot. This could be your local course just down the road from home. Greens are a good challenge. Water looked good. Good clean course - looks good - plays good. Par 3 17th is a good test. Shot 65 in normal - calm. Thanks for sharing!

This is the second course I play from jmwall24. And I must say this one is much better than Hawk Hollow. It's not far from the perfection. Excellent job!

Thanks oldhacker, I appreciate it. The mid-west theme is exactly what I was going for. The courses I play here in Michigan in real life probably aren't long enough, or tough enough for this game. So I decided to make a fantasy course of my favorite real holes that I play all the time.

Jm - I just had the opportunity to play this course and like golffrick007 says it is a great course. I have lived and played golf in Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan (Downriver), Missouri and Oklahoma. If you were going for a course that reminds one of the Midwest, you nailed it. It seems like I have played this type of course my entire life. Great work.

I figure the world is 75% water for a reason. That is why I sail. |
