I am thinking of trying to design my home course for me and my son to practise on.I have downloaded the course architect 2006. Is this what most of you guys use?
I am a beginner so just a basic course outlay will suffice.
Thanks.

What can I say? Kens the best! A great update for 06. This course is visually stunning, especially 12! The greens are killer though, I felt lucky to shoot 75 the first time.

I agree with Eaglphan, this course plays like it should and that is to be challenging. I regard this as being a very good job.

I believe Im misunderstanding something here.
I downloaded the library files and the Augusta 06 course, but I dont see two things:
1. The instructions say to create a cls folder and put the cls file in it. I dont see a cls file in anything that I downloaded.
2. I dont see a course file in anything that I downloaded.
Ive installed courses before, but maybe I only recognize one way to do it. Im using CL setup to install.
Can someone please give some guidance? What am I missing or misunderstanding?
Thanks!

Dont often get excited. But this version has me well gone.
Superb version plays like a dream just like the real thing.
Best course I have played on 2k6, 2k5 and 2k3.
One slight glitch on tee screen on 18th have a black line across screen near top.
Has no effect on anything however
Just looks odd.
Also its only on this hole
Once again great course

For those having trouble getting the course to run, have you downloaded and installed the Course Architect program from the EA Sports web site? There are Architect Libraries that come bundled with that program that are needed for many custom courses. We recommend that everyone download and install that program even if you are not going to ever design a course just because those bundled libraries are needed for almost every custom course that comes out. Have you looked in our forums in the Tutorial/FAQ area on how to properly install downloaded courses/libraries?
There is nothing wrong with the course on this site. Just look at the download numbers and you will see that a huge number of people have downloaded the course and are having no problem getting it to run. So it is not a problem with the files on our site. If the steps are properly followed to install your course and library files and if you have the Architect Libraries from the 06 Course Architect installed, the course will run just fine.

gau001,
Have you looked in our forums in the Tutorials/FAQ forum? There is a full step-by-step tutorial on how to install downloaded courses. It pretty much explains what you need to do to get this and any other course from our site to run.

Wow. Ive never seen so many comments on one course before...
This is a great version. Not only does it look fantastic, but it plays really well and much like the real thing...like Id know anyway. The best feature is the greens. Yes, theres a bit of a rendering problem with the texture, but they are so realistic on vdry! If you hit a nice high 9 iron, but in the wrong spot, its gone! Just like you see happen to the pros on TV. If you havent tried vdry yet, you have to!

First, its a great course and faithful rendition to Augusta as I knew it would be. I hate to be the first to bring up a negative but theres a bad spike on green 1. I had a pin location in upper left corner. My ball was midway laterally and about 6 feet from bottom fringe. I aimed about 6 feet right of the flag and about halfway my ball took a sudden turn of about 30-35 degrees to the left. If it were a lesser course by a lesser designer, I wouldnt say anything at all. Again, great job and thanks! :)

Only question I have is that my flag seems to have the Masters logo on only half way. Am I the only one like that?

Files in appropriate places.
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06\Courses\Augusta 06
Make a folder named Augusta 06 and place everything there with the exception of the cls file. The cls file will allow you to see galleries. Make a folder named cls and place as a sub folder i.e
C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06\Courses\Augusta 06\cls
Place the cls file in the cls folder.
Go to your Course Utility and add what you can i.e. splash screen ect. in the Properties dialog
OR just use Jorgens CLTool for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06
Get it here: http://web.telia.com/~u85417550/
