A very interesting ... in some ways 'un'-southern Californian-ish course. This course plays and feels like, instead, a true 'alpine' course: Conifers line the fairways....most fairways are very long -- some straight some very twisting -- and most holes exhibit LOTS of elevation change. Greens on most holes are small and challenging with greenside bunkers encircling most greens. This is a fairly challenging course -made that much more challenging due to the VERY THICK rough which lines the fairways, esp. of every hole. If you miss the fairway, making par is very, very difficult.

I played against a Calvin Peete in his prime. I had an 'off' day, though he is clearly better than I am, but I did mount a charge, of sorts, on the back nine FINALLY getting my first birdies of the round...
