G’day mate ! With its beautiful skyline and bay, this par 72 is delightful to watch and is quite enjoyable with some challenging holes with a few narrow fairways, blind shots, and some wide greens, looking easy at first, until you see their little slopes or undulations. As you stand on the par-4 1st hole, ready to tee off, you will admire a beautiful panoramic view, with tall skyscrapers (mostly on the left) and the bay (on the right) before hitting your approach toward a downhill and undulating green, slightly to the left. Then, after the dogleg left par-4 2nd hole, with a blind and uphill tee shot landing past a bunker in the middle of the fairway and a slightly-uphill green, and the straight and downhill par-4 3rd, with another blind tee shot over deep rough and tall grass, you will face two very nice holes. The par-5 4th hole bends to the left, with a blind and downhill tee shot offering a beautiful view of the ocean as it lands onto the fairway and can offer you a chance for an eagle if you can avoid on your long second shot, the three big bunkers lined up not far apart in front of the green, before walking over to the gorgeous par-4 5th, facing the city, with a downhill tee shot flying through a small gap between trees and an elevated green. Believe it or not, two other eagle opportunities follow, starting with the short (around 250 yards) and straight... par-4 (!) 6th hole, whose downhill green is reachable with a blind tee shot, and the dogleg par-5 7th, bending sharply to the right and with an uphill approach to an elevated green. As for the last two holes, I prefer the dogleg left par-4 8th, quite tough with its blind and downhill tee shot over a few bushes landing near five bunkers, spread on both sides of the fairway, midway, and with another elevated green, as it is tougher than the pretty and straight par-4 9th, facing the city (with a narrow island in the middle of an elongated lake near the tee box, on the left) and with a slightly-elevated green. The back 9 starts with two difficult holes, the nice dogleg par-4 10th, with a blind tee shot flying past a lone tree (on the right) and deep rough and landing onto a narrow fairway, and a green, set slightly to the right, and the dogleg left par-4 11th, with a blind and downhill tee shot flying over trees, and another blind shot toward an elevated green. After enjoying a “break” with the straight par-4 12th hole, slightly uphill all the way and with a blind tee shot, the very short par-3 13th (around 125 yards), with a nice panoramic view of the bay as you reach the green, and the very long dogleg left par-4 14th, with an undulating fairway, two gorgeous holes follow. The par-4 15th, facing the skyline, is quite scenic and downhill all the way, with bunkers, midway, making the fairway quite narrow, and the dogleg right par-4 16th has an elongated lake (with a small island in the middle, midway, on the left) to watch for before reaching its slightly-elevated green. You will finish with two “easier” holes, the par-4 17th, with a blind and uphill tee shot landing down onto a rollercoaster fairway and an elevated green, slightly to the right, and the beautiful par-3 18th, with another nice panoramic view of the bay. Overall, this Perth CC, well-designed by rlslay (“Rejects”), is a feast for the eyes and very enjoyable, and if you can choose the right clubs on a couple of holes where the yardage and the par might be misleading, you should have a... good day, mate !

Finally got to Perth...the one in Australia, and found a great golf course just waiting for me! Just a great skyline with the city close by the course, and a very fair course, everything about it was designed to make a golfer work some, but enjoy the round. Thanks, Rob, for Perth, and for all you work and talent. Appreciate all your courses.
