Had a fine round at Last Buoy, a couple of things I really liked about it. First was the various shades of green and blue, made it so peaceful I fell asleep on the 10th hole! But I also really liked the risk-reward holes 3 and 4, go for it with the driver or lay up to a safe place in the fairway - if you hit them, which I didn't do too well today! Hole 15 is a great view from the tee. Thanks, rlslay, you have a real talent for capturing the essence of a golf course.

Great test on expert, very dry, difficult pins etc but very fair, a whole lot of fun that brings out the inner sadist in me lol. Many thanks again Rob another cracking course.

Nice low tide bay panorama, with boats visible far away, and well-designed course but not too difficult if you can avoid the few bunkers, spread midway, and make a couple of birdies on the long par-5 holes along with a few putts on the wide greens, some with a gentle slope. On the front 9, my favorite holes are the pretty par-3 2nd, with a tee shot over some colorful flowers and bushes to reach an elevated green, and the dogleg left par-5 3rd, with four bunkers splitting the fairway, midway, and a blind and uphill approach to the green, guarded by four bunkers in front, for a potential eagle. I also liked the dogleg left par-4 7th hole, with a tee shot landing between a big bunker, midway in the inner corner, and short of a big lake (on the right), and a slightly-elevated green, and the pretty par-3 8th, with a tee shot over a lake landing onto the green (but with a big bush in the middle of the green - was it intended ?). As for the long (more than 630 yards) dogleg right par-5 9th hole, with its fairway, split by deep rough, midway, and with bunkers guarding the green, impossible to reach on your second shot, you can forget about getting an eagle. The back 9 is less challenging but has a few noteworthy holes, such as the par-3 11th, with a nice panoramic view of the bay beyond the wide green, set on a plateau, and the dogleg left par-5 15th, with an uphill tee shot and a downhill approach over an undulating fairway to reach a narrow green. If this Last Buoy CC is not as scenic as other rlslay’s courses, it plays smoothly and if you concentrate on your approaches and putting, you should... sink in a few birdies here and there, and avoid using the last available buoy during the high tide !
