With its nice sunlit mountains all around, this par 72 is quite eye-pleasing and also challenging, at times, with its elevation changes, blind shots and greens, well-guarded by a few bunkers. On the front 9, my favorite holes are the very tough dogleg left par-5 2nd, with a blind and downhill tee shot flying through a small gap between two trees (and over deep rough and bushes), and a long approach toward its slightly-elevated green, the pretty par-3 8th, with a blind tee shot toward the sloping green, hidden by trees (along on the right), and the dogleg left par-4 9th (similar to the 2nd hole), with a downhill tee shot between a couple of trees and a long approach to a slightly-elevated green, guarded by three small bunkers in front. On the way back, I enjoyed the dogleg right par-4 10th hole, with a downhill tee shot landing onto a very narrow fairway and a slightly-elevated green (with its gentle slope), the dogleg left par-5 11th, uphill all the way and with a blind tee shot, and the dogleg right par-4 12th, with a blind and uphill tee shot and a green, set on a small plateau and guarded by three small bunkers in front. If water is present on the par-5 15th hole, slightly downhill all the way, it is not a factor as your tee shot will land safely away from the elongated lake (midway on the left) but, with a couple of bunkers, guarding the green, your approach will be a little bit tricky if you want to get there on your second shot, unlike on the dogleg right par-4 16th, slightly-uphill all the way, where you will have to watch out for the lake, midway (on the left). As for the par-3 17th hole, you will have to hit a blind tee shot above a big mound, right in front of the tee box, in order to reach the green, almost 245 yards away... Overall, if this Broken Rock GC course is not as spectacular as some other courses from rlslay, it is well-designed as usual (I know it sounds like a... broken record !), and you should enjoy it if you can score a few birdies on some of the dogleg holes (par-4 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 12th, par-5 14th, par-4 18th), spread along this par 72...
