Another beautiful course, set around and above the San Francisco bay, with plenty of undulating tree-lined fairways, some quite narrow, elevation changes, blind shots, and risk/reward cliffside holes along the ocean. The pretty dogleg right par-4 1st hole is slightly-downhill all the way, with a tree-lined fairway and the ocean (on the far right), and three bunkers, guarding a small green. The par-4 2nd hole is very tough with a blind and uphill tee shot flying over tall trees and across a small canyon, landing onto a small slanted green, and is followed by the tough dogleg right par-4 3rd, with, again, a very narrow tree-lined downhill fairway. But the best has yet to come, with the wide open dogleg right and downhill par-4 4th hole, offering a beautiful view of the San Francisco bay, just like the par-3 6th, uphill all the way and with a very narrow tree-lined fairway and another panoramic view of the skyline as you reach the green. The scenery then changes with the very long (more than 630 yards) dogleg right par-5 7th hole, with an undulating fairway hugging the ocean below (on the left), and a green, impossible to reach on your second shot, before moving later on to the superb but very short (around... 80 yards !) par-3 9th, with a blind, scary and steeply-downhill tee shot landing onto a peninsula green, surrounded by a small lake (with nice reeds in it) ! Coming home, most of the early holes have the skyline behind them, as you will find out on the par-4 10th, steeply uphill with an undulating fairway and a few bunkers, spread along left and right, all the way to the green. Then, after a few more rollercoaster holes (par-4 11th, par-5 12th, par-4 13th), the final stretch is simply spectacular : the par-3 14th offers a clear view of the peninsula green, seen on the 9th hole, and is followed by the pretty dogleg right par-4 15th, along the ocean below (on the left) and with, again, a gorgeous view of San Francisco, beyond the green. As for the last three holes, they are along the cliffs, starting with the nice par-3 16th, and its green, set above the ocean, before facing the magnificent dogleg left par-4 17th (a real postcard !), downhill all the way and with a gorgeous view of the bay, and finishing with the par-3 18th, with the green set at the tip of a cliff. With its challenging landscape, this par 70 will definitely test your skills but if you are patient enough and play it safe, you should finish below par on this Porcupine Mtn GC 2010, set around the gorgeous San Francisco Bay and well designed by rlslay...

Found this course this morning, and I have to say it's a really great course - elevation of course on Porcupine Mountain, but it played clean and fair, challenging, but you can score well if you hit quality shots. I generally play real courses, but this is one I'll keep and play, one of several rlslay fantasy courses I have and enjoy. Thanks much for the course, rlslay. I also enjoyed the view of Porcupine City!
