With nice green rolling and wooded hills to gaze at, this par 72 looks pretty and relatively “easy”, at first glance, with plenty of straight holes, but don’t be fooled by your first impressions as its undulating greens will definitely test your skills, as you will find out, for example, on the dogleg right par-4 2nd hole, downhill all the way, but with a tricky slope near the cup.
Another undulating green awaits you on the straight par-4 4th hole, with a stream in front of the green and flowing into a big pond (to the left), before facing later on quite a few pot bunkers, scattered all along the undulating fairway on the straight par-4 7th and the green of the dogleg right par-5 8th (hard to reach on your second shot).
You will finish the front 9 with another straight hole, the par-4 9th, quite pretty with a tee shot flying past a serpentine creek, crossing the fairway, midway, and a second shot over it, again, to get to the green.
After water and pot bunkers, you will have to hit your tee shot over a small serpentine... fault, across the fairway, on the dogleg right par-4 11th hole, before moving on to the straight par-4 12th, set along a small rocky plateau, filled with small trees (on the left), with another undulating fairway and a green, partially hidden by a big rock (in front, to the left).
Then, after the dogleg right par-4 13th hole, with its approach over a creek, two-thirds of the way, and the par-3 14th, you will face three dogleg left holes, with the par-4 15th, and its serpentine creek, midway, and the par-5 16th, with four small bunkers, guarding the entrance of the green, being the nicest, compared to the par-4 17th, before finishing with the straight par-4 18th hole.
Overall, with its wide open look and nice scenery, this Kingsway Resort and Golf 2016 offers another challenging round of golf but, with only two par-3 and two par-5 holes to "enjoy", you will have to putt pretty well on your way if you want to feel like a... king at the end of the day !
