Pretty, with its very sharp-looking small rocky mountains, all around, this par 72 is not too difficult with just a few well-placed bunkers and/or lakes to deal with, and all par-5 holes, offering eagle opportunities. After two “mostly” straight holes (a par-5 1st, with a lake ending to the left side of the green, and a par-4 2nd), I like the nice par-3 3rd, with a small lake in front of the green, and the beautiful dogleg left par-5 4th, with a tee shot flying above two lakes, side by side, and a long second shot to reach the green. Two dogleg left par-4 holes follow, with the 5th, being nicer with its downhill tee shot landing onto a very narrow tree-lined fairway and its slightly-elevated green, before moving on to the par-3 7th, with a small lake to the left, behind the green, and the scenic dogleg right par-5 8th, with a tee shot flying over a serpentine stream twice, and an uphill approach to reach the elevated green. On the back 9, water comes into play on three holes, the par-3 12th, with a tee shot over a big lake landing onto the green (set near its tip), the par-3 16th, with a tee shot over a boomerang-shaped lake, and the nice dogleg right par-5 18th, with a downhill tee shot and a delicate approach to the green, set next to a lake (on the right), and with a little bit of more water behind. If this Southern Star GC 2016 course is nicely done and plays smoothly, you should be able to finish with a low scorecard despite its undulating fairways and greens, unlike some other rlslay’s designs previously released...

Pure class as always from rlslay from the glorious pano views on the 1st tee to the beautiful layout and landscaping throughout, a real feast for the eyes and enough challenge to be fun and entertaining, utilising the limitation of old software to it's fullest, the course is very well balanced with water, bunkers and undulating greens, really enjoyed my round and looking forwards to many more on this course and future designs from the one of the true Master rsslay Thankyou
