A scenic course, with beautiful villas overlooking small lakes, and also quite colorful with plenty of flowers and reeds, where you will need to think first before hitting some of your approaches if you want to finish with a nice scorecard. The par-5 opening hole sets the tone for what you will face, with a small lake to watch for (midway, on the right), and is followed by the two dogleg par-4 holes, with the 2nd, nicer than the 3rd, with its downhill tee shot and uphill approach toward its elevated green. Then, after the pretty par-3 4th hole, with big bunkers in front of the green, set next to a small lake (on the right), three par-4 holes await you before moving on to the beautiful dogleg left par-4 8th, with a tee shot landing near a lake, midway (on the left), over which you will need to hit your approach to reach the green, with more water behind. Water is again present on the picturesque par-3 9th hole, with a tee shot over a lake, just like on the dogleg right par-4 10th, with its narrow fairway, set between another lake, midway (on the left) and sand traps (on the right), and its elevated green, whose flag is partially hidden by trees. If the par-4 11th hole looks easier, with big bunkers, two-thirds of the way (on both sides of the fairway), you will have to make sure to avoid a small pond near the green (to the left), before walking over to the nice dogleg left par-5 12th, with a second shot over part of a lake. On the short par-4 13th hole, pretty and wide open, with villas on a small hilltop (on the left) and a lake, midway (on the right), you might be tempted to try to reach its green, with your tee shot, before moving later on to the par-4 15th, downhill and with a green, next to a lake (on the left). Finally, after the dogleg right par-4 16th hole, with its uphill tee shot landing near a huge bunker in the middle of the fairway (in the inner corner), and the straight and slightly-downhill par-4 17th, with a tee shot over a wide sandy area and a wide green (halfway surrounded by a lake and plenty of reeds), you will complete your round with the dogleg right par-5 18th, with a big elongated bunker ending in front of the green (on the right), before concentrating on your last putt, a little bit hard to read with its little slope near the cup. As always, Micko came up with another pretty and challenging course, and you should hurry to pack your bags (and your camera) and head for the Caribbean in order to fully enjoy this par 72 !
