A pretty desert course, with plenty of deep rough and shrubs, and tricky, sometimes, with quite a few slanted fairways, blind shots and some elevated greens. After the wide open par-4 1st hole, and its elevated green, you will face one of my favorite holes, the beautiful par-3 2nd, with a blind tee shot over a small hill (on the left) needed to reach the green (set on a plateau overlooking a nice panoramic view), before moving on to the par-4 3rd, straight but where you will have to hit another blind tee shot to land short of a deep rough area, splitting the fairway, midway. After a blind tee shot over more bushes and deep rough on the long par-3 4th hole, you will head to the dogleg left par-5 5th hole, uphill all the way and quite difficult, with its slanted fairway (again split midway, by deep rough), and its long and blind approach toward the green. Then, after two straight holes, the par-4 6th and the par-5 7th, with more shrubs and deep rough to watch for, you will need to hit another blind tee shot over them, but, this time, downward to the green on the par-3 8th, before finishing with the straight par-5 9th hole, and its uphill approach to the green. The back 9 starts with the dogleg left par-4 10th hole, with a blind and downhill approach to get to the green, and is followed by the dogleg right par-5 11th, uphill all the way and with a slanted fairway and another blind second shot toward a sloped green. Water awaits you on the par-3 12th hole, with a... tiny boomerang-shaped creek in front of the sloped green, just like on the par-4 13th, with its small lake (not far from the tee box, on the left), slanted fairway and elevated green. You will then face the dogleg left par-4 14th hole, downhill all the way and with a blind tee shot over deep rough and shrubs, before walking over to the par-3 15th, slightly uphill and with only dirt, rough and bushes between the tee box and the green. The last three holes are quite short : the par-5 16th is uphill all the way and with a slanted fairway, the par-4 17th has a few deep sand traps in front (and to the left) of the green, and the dogleg left par-4 18th, another one of my favorite holes, is quite scenic, with a tee shot landing short of an elongated lake, midway (next to a parking lot, on the right). Needless to say, with plenty of dirt, bushes, deep rough, a few cacti, dead trees and a couple of big rocks, this real Coral Canyon Golf Course will definitely offer you a nice... desert, thanks to this challenging course from MSR Golf !

Thanks, MSR, for sharing the course, it is a beauty. Foremost, it plays fair, rough is rough, sand traps are the kind I have to cut the ball to get out nicely, greens have contours but I didn't find any playing dry that were unfair. Certainly lives up to your reputation, MSR - another course to keep and play again and again. Golfingod
