Another beautiful course from Quietly, with breathtaking (and scary !) mountains views, uphill all the way, and with steeply-elevated greens, making your approaches quite tricky, club-wise. Right off the bat, you will see what’s in store for you with the pretty dogleg left par-4 1st hole, before continuing, after two straight ones (par-5 2nd and its little bridge, midway, and the par-4 3rd, with its heavily-slanted fairway and undulated green), with the dogleg right par-4 4th, with a tee shot over deep rough and bushes and a blind approach toward a steeply-elevated green. But the best has yet to come, with the gorgeous par-4 5th hole (my favorite), with a very tricky tee shot over a serpentine area filled with bunkers and bushes right in front of a narrow green, set right in front of a beautiful waterfall running down from a high cliff, and the scenic dogleg left par-5 6th, with that cascade again (next to the tee box, on the left) and a tee shot around trees on top of that high cliff, leaving you with a very long and risky second shot toward the elevated green, hard to reach if you want to have an eagle opportunity. You will then face the pretty par-3 7th hole, and its steeply... downhill green, surrounded by bunkers, before walking over to another par-3, the 8th hole (uphill and with a wide green), and finishing with the dogleg left par-4 9th, with trees splitting two fairways, lengthwise, midway, allowing you to choose which side you want to hit your tee shot... As expected, the back 9 has some very scary and difficult holes too, starting with the breathtaking and straight par-4 11th, simply gorgeous with its narrow fairway along a very steep ravine (on the right) and its steeply-elevated green, and the dogleg left par-5 12th, with a second shot over a big ravine (filled with trees) and an elevated green, guarded by a big bunker in front. Then, after the straight par-3 13th, uphill all the way, two dogleg right holes await you (the par-4 14th and the par-5 15th), with the first one being tougher with its fairway winding its way left, then uphill to the right (past a wide sandy area, midway), even though the latter one has a more steeply-elevated green. The last three holes are not only beautiful, they are also quite challenging : the par-4 16th is a dogleg, bending to the left, along a sandy area ending behind the elevated green, and is followed by the scenic par-3 17th, with a tee shot flying between two mountains, and the pretty par-4 18th, uphill all the way, with a risky approach over another steep valley to reach the green, perched on a rocky mountain (with a beautiful house, offering a gorgeous panoramic view of the surroundings). With its spectacular views and nice trees all along, this A(lpine) A(scent) Golf Club deserves an A+, combining beauty and difficulty, and you will have your hands full trying to break par (especially with all those strategically-placed bunkers near the undulated greens) before heading for a well-deserved rest after completing your round !
P.S. I apologize, Quietly, for not hearing the waterfall (as I, mistakenly, mentioned to you in the forum) ! Turns out that I did not set the sound high enough (ha, ha) !
