Another nicely-designed real course from MSR Golf, not too difficult with hardly any obstacles in the way of your tee shots, but with a few water hazards to spice up your round on your way to the 18th green.
After the right dogleg par-4 1st hole, most of my favorite holes have water to contend with, such as on the left dogleg par-4 4th, with a small pond in front of the green, and on the right dogleg par-5 5th, with a little creek across the fairway, in front of the green.
But the most scenic ones are the beautiful left dogleg par-5 8th, hugging a lake (and its two small fountains, on the left), with a downhill tee shot and a nice approach toward the green (set next to the water), and the very pretty par-3 9th, with a tee shot over the lake and the fountain.
On the back 9, the best is for last again, with the two par-4 right dogleg holes, the 17th, with an approach over a small pond in front of the green, and the 18th, going back along the same lake seen on the par-5 8th hole.
Needless to say, this par 72 is easier than some of MSR’s other courses (as you will have eagle opportunities on all the par-5 holes), but that should not stop you from being keen on playing this Keene Trace GC !
