Another nice course, albeit not as challenging as the Otter Trail Golf Club, released 10 days ago by Bobby Bolin, and quite different, featuring rolling hills, a few ponds to watch for, and some undulating greens, sometimes hard to reach with well-placed bunkers around. My favorite holes on the front 9 are the left dogleg par-5 1st, with a downhill tee shot and a small pond to the far left of the small green, the pretty par-3 3rd, along the pond (on the left), and the scenic left dogleg par-4 4th, with a downhill tee shot over a serpentine creek landing onto a tree-lined and slanted fairway, followed by another shot over that creek to reach the green, with a big bunker in front and another one in the back to watch for. The par-3 5th hole is also noteworthy, with its steeply-uphill green and elongated puzzle-shaped bunker surrounding it halfway around (behind), just like the left dogleg par-4 6th, with trees on the left side partially hiding the undulating fairway and an uphill approach to the green (with a big pond on the left). You will finish the front 9 and start coming back home, with two dogleg holes, the 9th, to the left with three bunkers midway (left, across and right) and a long shot toward the elevated green (with more bunkers in front), and the 10th, to the right, with a downhill tee shot and a challenging approach to reach the undulating green, set next to a big pond (on the right). I also like the picturesque par-3 13th, with a downhill tee shot and two big bunkers in front of the green. Last, but not least, the next two left dogleg holes will test you, with a blind and steeply-downhill shot toward the green on the par-4 14th, and another blind, long and... steeply-uphill second shot if you want to try to reach the green of the par-5 15th hole. Then, after the par-3 16th hole, with its green set on a small plateau, you will move later on to the straight par-4 18th, with its elevated green, set right in front of the small and pretty clubhouse. With its scenic design, this par 71 is also fun to play and it will definitely add up to my Bolinwood collection. Thanks again, Bobby !

Bobby, thanks for a really fine course, as most of yours are naturally! Got on the wrong side of the green on 4, 8 and 10, tough ups and downs from there, but it played really fair, enjoyed the scenery, and really appreciated the texture in the fronts of the greens that kept my short shots from rolling back down the hill forever! Great job, had a great time.
