Thank you so much for the comments! @Holein1: you have fully understood the spirit of the course. And...please...don't retire, I really enjoy reading your comments! Every time a new course is released, I look forward to reading your review. I promise I won't write so much anymore :-)

@bravbrafroivipobei : out of curiosity, were you a golf designer in your previous life ? After playing your Gli Ulivi course, I can’t believe how good it is for only your second creation ! And, as if it was not enough, you are now slowly, but surely, sending me to the unemployment line with your “novel” comments on each hole… which used to be my “trademark” (ha, ha !). Anyway, needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this pretty par 72 which, despite its wide open look, offers a lot of risk/reward short holes, with elevation changes, strategically-placed water hazards, trees and bunkers, not to mention quite a few tricky greens. The scenic right dogleg par-4 1st hole, with a tee shot over a wide lake, sets the tone for what you will face all along, making your clubs selection the key to finishing with a good score. Another case in point : the par-5 4th hole, where it’s better to play it safe rather than trying to reach the green on your second shot or the left dogleg par-4 5th, where you can kiss goodbye for an eagle if you want to reach the green from the tee box. After hitting a blind tee shot on the uphill par-3 6th hole, you will need to hit another one over a wheat field on the par-4 7th, while making sure to avoid an elongated bunker on the left, midway. As for the par-5 8th hole, its length and narrow approach to the green will stop you from getting an eagle opportunity. The next two holes are simply gorgeous : the par-4 9th is straight and downhill, but very tough with a small river on the left of the fairway and bunkers on the right, midway, and a beautiful green, surrounded halfway by a lake (with a nice clubhouse behind), just like the par-4 10th, whose fairway is hugging an elongated lake on the left all the way to the green. On the par-4 11th hole, you can cut the corner with your tee shot in order to get an easier uphill second shot to the green, before facing the very challenging left dogleg par-5 12th, where you will need to hit two tough blind shots to reach the green. As for the par-3 13th hole, quite long, you should be able to get a birdie. The last three holes are not only pretty, they are also... pretty tough ! The par-5 16th needs a downhill tee shot before you can try to go for broke with your second shot between trees to reach the partially-hidden green, whereas the short par-3 17th hole will test your accuracy with its island-like green, before heading for the very scenic par-4 18th, with a tee shot over plenty of water before aiming for the green, near the clubhouse. With nice hills as a panorama (even without the town of Assisi to look at), this Gli Ulivi Golf & Country Club is very enjoyable and I can hardly wait for your next course ! Until then, ciao e grazie mille !
