A course that looks easy at first with its wide fairways, but you will have to hit very accurate approaches to reach the greens, often hidden by strategically-placed trees and wide bunkers. On the front 9, my favorite holes are the right dogleg opening par-4, slightly-uphill all the way, with a tree-lined fairway and a flag, partially hidden by trees, and the scenic left dogleg par-5 5th, with a tee shot over a winding river, halfway, landing near trees in the narrow corner, and a long second shot to reach the green. I also like the picturesque left dogleg par-5 7th hole, with its wide fairway hugging an elongated lake on the right flowing all the way past the green, tough to reach with a one and tall tree and a few shrubs in front, hiding it. If you are in a gambling mood, you will have to hit a perfect tee shot over more tall trees to reach the green of the short left dogleg par-4 8th hole, before moving on to the par-4 9th, where you will have to be careful with your second shot to avoid a small elongated pond (to the right of the green), with a lone tree and two little benches in the middle of a cute tiny island. Coming back, you will start with the long par-5 10th hole, with two small bunkers, midway on the left on the undulating and sloped fairway and a long second shot toward the wide green, before facing two par-4 holes, with trees in the way, halfway, and near the greens. Then, after the nice par-3 13th hole, with a small tree, right in the middle in front of the hidden and slightly-elevated green, and an elongated bunker (next to more trees) on the left, you will move on to two scenic holes, the “easy” par-4 14th, with a wide fairway hugging a big lake on the left (with another tree in the way of the green, slightly to the left), and the much tougher left dogleg par-5 15th, with plenty of trees on the left side, next to a lake, a lone tree in the middle of the fairway, and a long, risky and blind second shot over them if you want to try to reach its elevated green. As for the last three holes, you will have to hit tee shots over a tiny elongated pond (on the par-4 16th), over a lake (on the par-3 17th) and over a river, across and winding its way past the green, partially hidden by trees (on the left on the par-4 18th). Overall, you will have to be patient on this nicely-designed wide open par 72 Dark Rock Country Club course (another keeper from Bruce Ryder) if you want to finish with a decent score...

First of all, I hope that Bruce does continue to create courses. In the comments he uploaded with this course he states that if he does continue making courses, they will be few and far between. I for one think that he makes some very good, if not excellent courses and will miss them.
Though my favorite course of Bruce's is Ponds 'n' Pines Golf, there are several holes on this course that I like:
Hole #7- This is a long PAR 5. Upon your approach shot, you will be going uphill to a fairly large green that is protected on the left with trees and on the front with a lone pine tree and an area of bushes that is all heavy rough. This area is placed in such a way that you either have to lay up or make sure your approach shot gets enough loft to make it on the green. Landing in this heavy rough area adds at least one or maybe two strokes to your score.
Hole #8- A very short PAR 4. You will be tempted to go for the green from even the Pro tees. In order to get there, you must go over trees and hopefully land on a rather small green. Birdies are easy on this hole, but an eagle sometimes requires luck to get!
Hole #14- Another short PAR 4. This is a risk or reward hole. You can either lay up or go for the green on your tee shot. The smallish green is guarded by bunkers and water on the left hand side. The quest for an eagle is probably what most will go for, but if you put your tee shot in a bunker or someplace worse, you might scramble to get a PAR!
The rest of the holes are well made and I enjoyed playing them. This is a keeper in my Tiger Woods 2008 PC collection.

Excellent layout that plays great online, advanced, very dry, breezy, difficult pins etc. it is also very pleasing on the eye. many thanks once again Bruce, really enjoyed this one and had a real fun round.
