Just took this for a quick spin and it is what I expected. Tries hard to at least give the overall impresssion of what the golf course was, but comes up a little shy in terms of detail or accuracty.
I've found the CGX courses to be a mixed bag. Some are quite decent while others feel rushed or incomplete. Overall, they feel like 'Wal-Mart' courses. Quickly mass produced but better then nothing.
This course specifically is over-planted in places (even for this time period), often to cover up lack of detail. Severeal holes were improperly located in relation to neighbouring holes. In places, the course was headed uphill when it should have been downhill. Strangely missing trees left on 16 after overplanting nearly everywhere else.
All in all, a perfectly acceptable effort in the absence of anything better. But since there is a more up-to-date version available, probably not worth the download.

I am not sure that Nort2 (with Gunpower61's help) intended to finish this 59-week of uploading old CGX and PGAX courses with this Torrey Pines South version, but if they did, this is a very nice way to finish ! This famous par 72 is one of the best, designed by the CGX team, not only with its layout, but also with its beautiful trees, vegetation and panoramic views, making it delighful to watch and play. Among the most spectacular holes are the par-3 3rd, with its panoramic view of the ocean in front, its blind tee shot over part of the deep valley (on the left), and its scary cliff behind the green, and the right dogleg par-5 6th, where you will have to hit a nice tee shot to avoid a big hollow out-of-bound wasteland on the right (with a few trees on its edge on the left, midway) and a lone and thick tree in the right corner, a little further on the right. As for the back 9, I like the nice par-3 11th hole, the par-5 13th, quite scenic with a tee shot over a big and deep hollow wasteland (on the left), the par-3 16th, spectacular with its straight uphill tee shot over a deep out-of-bound wasteland, and panoramic view of the cliffs and ocean behind, and the par-5 18th, where you will have to hit a long and tough approach shot toward the green, while making sure to avoid a small pond in front, on the left side. Overall, despite a tiny displaying bug, mostly visible on the par-3 3rd and 16th holes (a green patch "poking up" on the right, not far from the ocean), you will enjoy playing this Torrey Pines South course, but if you want to have its latest version, you will have to download Quietly's spectacular 2022 version, as the course was renovated in 2019...

Lucky enough to already have this course for awhile now , plays very well on advanced, dry/very dry, breezy or gusty. I am sure you will not regret downloading this one and enjoy it like me. many thanks to all involved for bringing it to this great site too.

As you can see there is a A and B version of this course, both versions are the same, only the flag position on the green is different. Important note: a lot of CGX courses are only playable from the: PRO tees The cgx designers created courses in high tempo, so they only made the pro tees playable. So in TW08 you have to select the PRO tees.
